Mouse moves but clicks do nothing

Hello,

I just finished installing BF1 and have been unable to click on anything with my mouse.  I can see the pointer and move it around, but nothing happens when I click.  I've tried reinstalling, repairing, rebooting in clean boot mode, updating mouse drivers.  Nothing works.  I was able to connect a USB controller, and that worked, but I am not going to play this game with a controller.  I need to use a mouse and keyboard.  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dave

  • Hey @Phallocrat,

Hmm, can you try this: Pressing Ctrl + Shift + Num lock

    Let us know...

    Best regards,

So, apparently I have to plug in a controller, make sure it is on, do not touch it, and then I can use my mouse & keyboard.  Annoying.  It may have something to do with my video card.  I have a Radeon HD 6950.  The game looks fine when I play and I get good frame rates.  Just this weird issue.  Wish they'd fix it.

    Hello @Phallocrat

I am really sorry for those troubles with the mouse in Battlefield 1. This looks a lot like some internal drivers conflict issue. Can you try to remove your controller`s drivers, and reinstall your mouse drivers afterwards? Let us know the outcome.

    Cheers,

    Archi

Thanks for the suggestion.  I disabled the XBox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows in device manager, restarted, uninstalled my mouse, restarted, reinstalled my mouse, restarted.  Same exact issue.  No change.

    Hello @Phallocrat

And thank you for keeping us informed on this. Can you also try to load your system with the Clean Boot and try to launch the game again? Let us know the result.

    Cheers,

    Archi

Thanks, but that was one of the first things I tried after I saw it suggested somewhere else.  No luck.
