Hi drawxy,
Where are you required to enter a key for the new Battlefield 1942?
As far as I tested it myself, you just need to download the game via Origin and then it should be ready to play.

We are getting an 'Invalid Key' error, when joining EA servers on internet Multiplayer. In the old version of BF1942, to sort this out we'd boot up Battlefield 1942_Code.exe to input the key, however for me on Win7 Ultimate x64, this application will not boot up, and apparantly ONLY accepts numbers for serial key too.
Origin currently issues BF1942 keys with letters, as well as numbers.- 10 years ago
2015 and this still is not fixed.
this is why i stopped buying on origin.

After reloading data from my back up HD on to my new HD, I have the game but no key - it seems that I cannot find / access the key and there is no on line help on this free (once paid for) game. I'd like to start playing again. Origin, any help??

If I click on "download" I have to launch origin, then to log in. After I have to "activate the product"or to leave. I choose to activate it but I need a serial key.
- Anonymous13 years agoi have the same issue as drawxy has: i login to the Origin Store page > select 'Get it Now' > select 'Launch Origin' > Origin opens, i login to Origin > Origin asks for product key > ??? what product key? where? i've been through this procedure about 20 times punctuated with various computer restarts, cache clears, browser upgrades and downgrades, email checks (in case the key was sent to me via email) and so on... and it's same deal each time. where is this elusive key?

EA Staff
Could I ask you to try it directly from within the Origin client again, please?
Launch Origin, go to the store, click on Demos at the top bar and then on the "Get it now" button. From my own experience this should add the game to your library without any further complications.
Please let me know if this works.
Thanks.
Hi liquidustalon,
The Studio and the Origin team are looking into this right now, we will update you when we have more information at hand. In the meantime, and if you are a bit tech-savy, you might want to try the workaround posted by ston3cold in this thread: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Battlefield-1942/Battlefield-1942-Invalid-Serial-Key/m-p/175664#M50
Thank you for your patience.

I download the game via 01net site.
Battlefield 1942 is a free version
when i try to launch the game using origin , an activation key is requested.
The following message appear: "Pour jouer à DisplayName field missing from registry., vous devez d'abord l'activer sur votre Compte EA"
I need to click on "Activer le jeu"
I don't have any key to type as it is a free version.
The downloaded file is a ZIP file with auto extract in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 1942
and the directory contain the BF1942.exe file to be launch using origin
Can you help me? How can I proceed ?
