New to PS4 Pro - a few questions

Hi all,

I am about to buy PS4 Pro and would love to get your opinion and be helped with a few questions:

1. Playing BF4 on PS4 Pro is very different from playing on PC ?

2. When playing online with PS4 Pro - is it a must to have the "PS4-Live" ?

3. When playing online with PS4 Pro, are there internet connections problems ?  If so, what can be done ?

4. Do I need special accessories for playing BF4 on PS4-pro ?  Do you have any recommendation for a controller ? For a headset ?

5. A general PS4-pro question: To get HDR view, do I need HDR TV or does the PS4-Pro do all the work on its own, "outside" the TV ?

Thanks a lot for any expert who would help and answer all these annoying questions...

  • Hello @Lizza20

A bunch of interesting questions you have there.

    1. Playing on console or PC is always different, but rather in terms of controls, not the game itself.

    2. If by PS4-Live you mean PlayStation Plus, it is needed to play the game online.

    3. If your Internet connection is solid, you should not encounter any connection issues.

    4. No special equipment is needed to play Battlefield 4 on PlayStation 4 Pro, beside the standard controller.

    5. As for you HDR related question, I suggest you to read this article on this matter.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Archi

    Hi Archi !

    1. Thanks

    2. Thanks

    3. Thanks

    4. Thanks

    5. Thanks

I bought this PS4-pro today and it plays like a beast... The problem is the controls.  It is so delicate - every small touch moves the player all over the place... And the combination of all these buttons... Iguess when I'll get used to it it will be better then the PC ?

    Thanks again,

    Lizza

No worries @Lizza20 you will get used to it. I was playing shooters on PC for years, before switching to console, and right now the controller feels much better, than the usual mouse + keyboard control scheme. Are you playing the game in 4K now?

    Hi Archi :-)

I am playing with a regular HD TV.  I want to buy a low-med price TV with KK (and HDR ofcourse).  I read a bit on a couple of sites and it says that one of the important factors to look for in a TV is low input lag.  I am still searching for the optimal price-performance combination.

Thank you very much and have a wonderful day !

Hmm @Lizza20 some tough decisions you are facing. I myself bought the biggest TV with Full HD. Some unknown manufacturer, but the sheer size makes Battlefield 1 looks gorgeous! But this is just me. Want to upgrade to 4K in the future, saw some trailers for Mass Effect Andromeda in 4K and it was amazing. And the price for 4K TVs is going down right now.

    Hey Archi :-)

I love Battlefield 4.  I can play it for hours.  I have another question for you, because you probably know everything :-)

I am looking for a good and very active troop.  Mine is dead for some time.   Do you have any suggestions ?

And BTW - if I join some squad in a game - is there a way to communicate with them (I am using a mic) ?

Good night and thank you !
