One of the problems with the different inputs, is that Controller players feel entitled to be able to compete with Mouse users. Fair would be no one gets any Aim Assist. It's a ridiculous concept that some get it, while others don't. Since that mentality has been promoted by different developers, there's no chance in changing that. Separate lobbies is the only way that makes sense. To be clear, I think Controllers should be fully supported on PC, but they shouldn't be given any assist.
It's funny you mention cheating on PC, but the most common cheat because of how accessible it is, is probably the Cronus Device. Which you can see on Amazon every month thousands of them are sold, and that's just one retailer. Also, the amount of assist players get these days, you'd probably would have been voted out of a lobby for soft locking back in the day. Today's assist are the equivalent of what soft aim locks used to be about a decade ago. Every Console player feels like a cheat at this point.
Whenever I go up against a Console player where it comes down to pure reflexes, both of us being caught out in the open with no cover for example, they almost exclusively win that encounter. Doesn't matter if I fire first, land what looks like 10+ shots first, only a couple ever seem to register, but then I die instantly, soon as they fire. As a PC player, I have to play smart, predict, use geometry, and be incredibly proficient at using cover, which if you're playing shooters should be a given. However in contrast, I see Console players just running around and jumping in fights without really using cover. Why? Because of the assist they get and their seemingly special connection. They don't seem to get punished as quickly as I do on PC. My bullets don't seem to register in real time, but my deaths are like I said, INSTANT. I have a few accounts, and the couple where I only play Close Quarters Conquest, I have a KD of over 8, and on the other account that I used to played Redacted exclusively when it was it's own playlist, that account has a KD of over 10. Both of those are KD's against real players, not AI. It's not to brag, but to explain I understand shooters and how to use positioning to achieve that kind of KD. Like you, I've been playing shooters for literal decades now.
I agree though, each platform had plenty of players to keep them separated, it was never an issue. Even with servers spooling up for each new round, mathematically, it doesn't save any money, beyond maybe a single server or two. So I don't get the point of it, or why it's being pushed so aggressively. I suspect Console manufactures are pushing it for whatever reason, but I couldn't tell you why. I also suspect that they do something to make the experience feel more fair to Console players, since PC players are not really playing through a particular network. It's too consistent across so many different games to just ignore it, or to toss it up to Console players using wifi more often or something.
I've lost faith in Dice and the community. The only things I see players complaining about is SBMM, which most of them don't understand what it even is, or it's necessity in online shooters. The other being what weapons a class can use, so mind numbingly trivial. Dice doesn't have the vision, passion of playing their own game, insight, whatever you want to call it, to make a game that's fundamentally solid at this point. BF2042 is mess with the amount of bugs it has to this day, I've made numerous reports, and NOT A SINGLE ONE has been fixed. Some are several years old. And now there's even new bugs being introduced with patches. I never hear anyone complain about the over use of animations for every little thing, how it throws the sights off center, the weird physics, and geometry that constantly shifts your character around while trying to aim. Anyways, if the community has no interest in keeping Dice in check, Dice certainly won't hold themselves to that level of detail anymore, besides maybe some flashy animations.
Personally, I'm pretty much done with Battlefield. Labs is a joke, and there's no way I'm buying BF6. I just come on here to rant and blow off some steam once in a while.

No aim assist at all for anyone would be too unfair for controller users and you do need to consider that not everyone can just use a keyboard there are accessibility concerns. Just tuning it down and ideally doesnt hard bias to the head of players as much should be a much more agreeable middle ground.
As for everything else... idk man you do you. If you really think the devs dont care nobody can convince you otherwise I see it all too often in various communities, but I also know folks who would very much prove it wrong for just about any game ever. Bugs happen, reporting em helps but unless its a hard crash and one that is replicable odds are it aint actually that important in the grand scheme. Players ofc will have issue with more day to day game feel stuff vs bugs because most players dont even bother to report em and would rather just talk about how things feel to them.

No aim assist is what would be fair, and has nothing to do with accessibility. I'd be happy if it was turned down, but the problem is that they're starting from how do we make the two different inputs even, rather than how do we make it so that Mouse users don't stomp on controller players. Not everyone on PC using a mouse can aim like Enders, which seems to be the general take on it for some odd reason. Just point and click on heads, "super easy". So now, as a PC player, I have to push back, which this is what fed up looks like. Have you heard the devs talk about adjusting it? Have you heard anyone ever say, maybe controllera shouldn't compete with mouse users, but we can get them a bit closer? No, that's the problem. I'm also all for accessibility, but that also doesn't mean free aimbots either. Controllers and other devices should be fully supported.
Way to write off bugs I found without understanding any of the context, maybe it is game breaking. And of course, bugs do happen, but when they're easily reproduced and arguably game breaking, then shouldn't they be addressed at some point? Within years? Come on, hold them somewhat accountable.
You're seeing people getting increasingly annoyed at modern studios, its because there seems to be a disconnect. The people making the games are passionate and very talented. And I completely understand making games is exceedingly hard, but the people at the top, the management, they seem to be just focused on sales, micro-transactions, and keeping players in game long as they can, even by wasting their time with tedious chores because just maybe they'll spend a couple more bucks. They're the ones dictating what the final product looks like. Innovation is only coming out of indie studios at this point. Finding the fun and making a game an enjoyable experience isn't the point anymore, it's sales.
There is such a thing as being positively toxic as well. Ignoring issues, always looking at the bright side, and all that doesn't help improve anything either. It is okay to get mad, it's okay to express opinions, and they don't need to always be polished. Sometimes you have to speak your mind the way that you can. So trying to minimize other peoples issues, especially as a fellow player, it's just really annoying.
