Origin has just installed a 250MB+ update for Battlefield 1.
Now the game launches fine!

EA Staff (Retired)One of our users seems to found a workaround for the similar issue. Can you check this thread and let us know if the same solution will fix this for you.

I checked the licence files folder and I already had full control. In fact when I run Process Monitor, I get no Access Denied messages at all when trying to play BF1. I gave myself explicit rights to the folder anyway but it didn't make a difference. Unfortunate, as it sounded like a similar issue.
I only have one active AV, one firewall and one anti-exploit app but I've uninstalled the lot now and reset the Windows firewall to its default ruleset but BF1 is behaving exactly the same as before :-(
Any ideas what else I can try?

This did work for a while and then I upgraded to Windows 1703 and also upgraded from a R9 270X to an RX480 (with the Clean Install option). Now the BF1 problem in this thread has come back exactly as before; on launch the cloud sync occurs and nothing else, no errors!
I've deleted similar files to before; run similar things as before as admin; repaired the game; all to no avail. I'm loathe to completely uninstall it as it's such a gigantic download!
My PC is full of games, all of which work fine - eg Sniper Elite 4 and Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 being two of the newest. This is the only game which refuses to behave!
BTW, every time I run an Update for BF1, it downloads a 209MB file. It does this without fail every single time?!!
I've attached Client_Log.txt as it may be useful.
