(PC)- Cant Connect online Battlefield One

(PC)(Windows 10, GTX 960, i5) Bought the game on Friday and it was working until Saturday afternoon.  Now it just thinks I am offline, and when i try to connect it says cannot connect to bf1 servers.  I can see friends online and playing, and when I try to join their session it gives me "unknown error".  I have made no changes to my PC since  I bought the game.  My internet is working and I can play other games online with no problems.

Here's what i have done

-restarted my PC

-reinstalled origin and BF1

-checked to make sure all drivers are up to date (including my router)

-rest router and modem

-Opened up my NAT, made my computer a DMZ, and turned off firewall

-repaired BF1.  (through origin)

Im all out of trick now...

  • Hey everyone,

Hope some of you have fixed the problem. As for me, I have found a solution that may help all of you. Go into your documents and rename your Battlefield 1 game save folder as Battlefield 1_old or whatever.

Then open BF1 and allow origin to sync the cloud save.

And voila it started working for me.

Tried deleting the documents folder, didn't work. Still the same error.

Had the game for days now and still can't play it, thanks EA.

    Hey @metalyss,

    thanks for the info.

I personally noticed that myself, Windows Defender recently became way more strict than it was before. You can try to add exceptions to Defender or switch to a different security software, but it's a fairly easy first stroubleshooting step.

  • Thanks to you, it works, screw windows defender, just install another Anti Virus

    Thanks,

Another fix to 'Grand List O Fix'

I added every exception I could find on my computer, to Windows Defender,

I did not shut defender off or uninstall. Defender still runs.

Add to exceptions; Battlefield 1 (everything), EA Core Server (? core & server OK add),

            Origin, OriginClientService.

PC - W10 - BF5 - Same issue! BF5 worked the day I installed it, 3 days later I was unable to connect to EA server. And I was forced to do the intro every time I stared the game, so it was clearly not aware I had played this game earlier..

I tried to renamed the Battlefile 5 save in my documents folder. Then I got in game a message popped up telling me to update my game files while in game, I press "OK" but the progress bar is stuck at 0%.

Then I disabled domain, private and public firewall, then disabled everything else I could like virus protection, folder protections etc and NOW IT WORKS!

But FFS I use the intergrated virus protection in Windows 10, please EA try to do better! This seams to be an old issue...

  • You absolute hero!!! This did the trick for me 🙂 Was almost giving up on trying to fix it.
