[PC] High packet losses and latency fluctuations?

@dejavu64541 Open a command prompt and type tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx replacing the xxx's with the server IP address.

You can view the server's IP address in the server browser on Battlelog. From the list view in server browser click View Full Server Page below the ticket/server info box on the right. The server's IP address will be in the server settings box below the map list.

Then post the output here.

@dejavu64541 Your network trace looks normal to me. There's some variation at a couple of hops, but not enough to cause problems. There's no packet loss in that network trace so its probably an intermittent problem.  

Are you using WIFI on this PC? If you are that could be whats causing the problem. WIFI is bad for online gaming because radio interference can cause packet loss and re-transmissions. If your using WIFI try to switch to a wired connection.

@dejavu64541 You can try playing on servers in other locations if you haven't already. Most US servers are located in Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, or New York. Sometimes there can be network congestion or problems in the area a server is located in.

You can look up the servers IP to see where its likely located. DuckDuckGo (https://duckduckgo.com/) search engine will tell you if you search for the server's IP address.

hi, i had this problem also some months ago, when i started the game bf4 i had no problems. after some patch i got the problems and then it also came in bf3

i tried everything from forum tips and what ea said. even opening ports in router but when i did opened the ports they asked for i got a new problem. kicked for the ports that i opened 

(the game said the ports are not open) so i removed everything changed in router. also cache clear with commands in pc nothing helped i only got more problems.

i always have a ping of 30 - 40 when i play in range (germany and the netherlands or uk. my internet is good enough cuz other games no problem.

oke to make this short. when i played at parents home (my old pc) i had no problems at all. their internet is a bit faster. my downloading is 3,5 mb sec and parents 4 mb sec.

but in battlefield i had no packet loss. and then..

i checked my network status at parents home (old pc) and was 1 gb internet and when i checked at home it was 100 mb internet so i thought maybe is that the problem.

it was the last thing it can be so i asked my mother to ask my isp for a new router. (my old one is white router and my parents have a black one newer) so my mother called isp

he asked how old mine was and 4+ years. they send a new router (modem) to me and my problem with packet loss is solved.

i only got a new problem back. sometimes i get kicked from the server becouse my ping go to 800+ and if server have high ping kick i get kicked.

its frustrating. i always have 30 ping but sometimes it go up and i get kicked.

i disabled nvidia gforce experience share option to imgur and it looks like thats the problem for high ping kick. further i am happy.

offtopic: and for ea, can i have battlefield hardline beta dogtag in battlefield 4. its missing but i have played hardline beta i still have the game in my games list in origin. if you can give it to me i dont have to start another topic on battlelog. thnx in advance. :D

I don't think buying a new router makes sense since the game was working perfectly fine just two days back...

if your router or modem is old like i had i got a new one for free from isp cuz they want keep me as customer so i think you dont have to pay for it
