I play BF4 on Hardcore and when I'm in game I can't see the big map when I press M. The only thing that appears is some random alphanumeric symbols on my screen.
I attached a screenshot from me pressing the bound map key in the Test Range.
I tried reinstalling the game once so far and that hasn't worked.
You can't see the map in hardcore. That's why it's called hardcore. It's not the same as a normal game mode.
Finally got around to checking this again. I haven't found a solution in the couple weeks since it first started happening. And I realize that in hardcore you can't see the MINI-MAP; however when I first installed the game I had no issue seeing the large map which is accessed by pressing 'm' on the keyboard. I've been using that large map in Hardcore for the entire time I played BF4 on Xbox (from release until this past december). I checked on a normal rules server and I have the same problem.
