Please Fix Auto-Balance

There has been a growing issue with games being completely lopsided in both skill and player numbers. At this point, I'd rather see teams scrambled randomly than an auto-balance attempt as it seems to be making things worse. I'm sure there's statistical information dev's can look at and see the growing amount of games being won in excess of 300 points.

Please look into this Dice/EA

Balancing a large multiplayer fps like BF1 is a very tricky thing to do. You have squads to consider along with skill, KDR and rank. Along with people joining in parties. The squads and parties are what presents the biggest concerns for auto balance as they can have many highly skilled players in them with no balancing for the entire team. There are so many factors that go into it. I applaud DICE for the masterpiece that is BF

The problem lies with the squad system. The squads are preserved, and the bad ones disband while the good ones stick around. The way the auto-blance works is that it rates squads a certain # and tries to make that # equal on each side. It's just that usually one squad is so much better than the others that whatever team has that squad usually ends up winning, despite the autobalance.

The solution for this is to either not preserve squads, or to give the team facing the best squad a handicap of some sort, whether it be a Behemoth, extra special pickups, or a player penalty.

  • Auto balance is still broken. Played all day yesterday in impossible yrams. In some cases lost to other teams with almost zero kills for my entire side. Players went 14 plus with only a single death and that was nearly all their top ten players. This needs to be fixed. Same problem for the LIFE of the franchise.

  • Yeah the squads don't help, but that doesn't explain why balance has got noticeably worse (seems to occur far too often to just be coincidence) over the last 3 or 4 months. Previous BF games were never this bad, and this version used to be much better as well. It certainly feels like somewhere along the line, something definitely got messed up, and the autobalancer is the only thing that seems to have tried to address it, but doesn't seem to be very effective
