PnkBstrB.exe initialization failed

why does it tell me to adjust the firewall settings for each of the punkbuster files then tell me to add more punkbuster files that are the same as they originally are?

Just update PunkBuster, you can find a guide here. Normally fixes the issue you're experiencing.

ive tried that multiple times

every time i run pbsvc and test it says comlpeted without error

i have no anti-virus running

Maybe @Carbonic could drop in here and see if he can help you get to the bottom of this?

The guide contains more than that possible solution.

Simple Solution 4 and 6, and advanced solution 1 would be a good start.

should pnkbsterB always show up in the services list?

because sometimes its there sometimes its not

when i launch battlelog the service comes up but after a few minutes it goes away and i guess thats why im being kicked

Well yes that would be my guess. 3 likely reasons are:

• Another program closes it (most likely antivirus or similar)
• It crashes (general Windows / stability problem)
• It tries to update itself but fails

its wierd how it only seems to happen with BF4

i can play BC2 or anything else all day and im fine
