POSSIBLE FIX to disconnects & fps problems

Hey guys,

first of all I can not guarantee that this works for everyone, maybe I just got very lucky. However the stuff listed below turned my Bf4 from barly playable to perfectly fine. Before I had around 30-40 fps at low graphics without any other background programm running while the game crashed every ~20 minutes. Until now I did not had a single crash & I'm playing Bf4 with constant 50+ fps at high, multiple programms running in the background.

Everything took less than 10 minutes, so you might just try it out. Specs listed at the bottom.

1. I guess most people already did that, thought I'll list it anyways: Updating your drivers. For me it was the 13.11 AMD beta driver (http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx) [support.amd.com]

2. Changing Battlefield 4 game properties to launch Bf4 (x64). To do that open Origin, right click at Bf4, game properties and select Battlefield 4™ (x64). NOTE: Only if you're running a 64-bit operating system which you actually should for Bf4.

3. Disableing the Origin cloud storage. Again just open Origin, right click at Bf4, show game detalis and then click at cloud storage.

4. Check your Microsoft Visual C++ installation. Deinstall every old one (you might need to reinstall SOME for older games, but you should get a message when they've got an error) and make sure you've got a newer version installed. I am currently using the 2012 v11.0 one, you can get the newest over here: http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/visual-studio-2013 [microsoft.com]

5. Install .net framework 4.5. Make sure you've got the newest version running, I'm currently using 4.5 (there is 4.5.1 tho). Get it here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/5a4x27ek.aspx [msdn.microsoft.com]

Those five steps did the majority of my improvements, thought I might also list stuff most people should have already done, Maybe someone spots one he forgot about:

6. Install the newest version of Punkbuster which can be found over here: http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php [punkbuster.com]

7. Make sure you run Bf4 as an admin (you can also disable visual designs and the desktop design). To do that just right click at Bf4.exe and check the compability tab.

8. Repair Battlefield 4 in Origin via right clicking at Bf4.

My Specs:
AMD FX 4100 Quad Core, 3.6 GHz
AMD Radeon HD 6950 4GB
8 GB RAM
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit (6.1)

I hope I could help anyone, see you on the Battlefield!
