[PS4] BF4 Won't Update

I bought a physical copy of Battlefield 4 today but the game will not update. My Playstation has the latest system update installed and I am connected to PSN and able to access other network functions from it. The game installed at version 1.0 but does not automatically detect that it needs to be updated. When I choose the "check for update" option by pressing the options button on the icon for the game, it says "The installed application is the latest version". I can play singleplayer but obviously am unable to connect to any multiplayer functions because the game isn't updated. Choosing multiplayer, battlelog, my soldier, or premium gives me a message that "the connection with EA online was lost" and does not trigger the game to update. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, logging in and out of PSN, disconnecting and reconnecting to wifi, all to no avail. Can anyone help?

I just bought the game, I wanted to get ready for BF1, Anyways, I downloaded the game, except the update never even tried to install. It keeps saying Update 1.0 and Its at its latest update. My cousin lives in the same house as me, His is working perfectly fine. Is it my PlayStation or is it EA picking on me again?

Exact same thing happening to me and many others on the BF forums. Wouldn't be right if you got to play a BF game online within 12 hours of purchasing though would it

I just want to play a game I payed for. They're wanting customers, yet they can't get there stuff straight. Do you know when I'll be able to possibly play? It's not even letting me update the Game.

Don't we all. Unfortunately we're going to have to wait for EA/DICE/Sony/whoever's screwed the pooch on this one to get their act together. As we do with every Battlefield release.

If the Sony Network doesn't server the update files located on it's servers I'm afraid you might have to contact Sony support. It's either that or your consoles acting weird and in that case there might come a fellow gamer in here with some tips like "rebuilding the database" or something else which might help you, I'm just a PC gamer.

I have the same exact problem please let me know if you find a solution, ill try to find something out, about to call sony and EA lol. I literally just bought the game this afternoon.
