PS4 New game update required.
I am new to ps4 and cannot play battlefield 1 online as it says a new game update is required. what does this mean, how do i fix it?

Once the game fully installed, it should upgrade itself automatically, but you can force an upgrade. Select the game and press Options button. Select Check for updates and the game should update itself.

Hey! I'm having this same issue with Battlefield 1. I've been playing the game for weeks with no issue, but the day the platoons came out I received this error. I have no updates in my notifications. I have internet connection. Any ideas? Thanks

I assume you are on PlayStation 4? Have you tried to perform troubleshooting steps, I`ve mentioned in my previous post? Reinstalling the game must fix this. Also check your console for free disk space, sufficient for the upgrade.

I am playing on the PC and having the same problem. Already tried uninstalling and repairing the game, still don't have any luck.
When i'm in the BF1 menus im getting a 'update required' screen with the two options 'not now' or 'update'. I can't click on either of these options.
Origins says my game is ready to play and fully updated. Anyone knows what to do? I've played the game with no issues for weeks..
Same thing just happened to me with the October update. Update always appeared in my notifications. This time, it did not.
I finally learned that hitting options (pause button) while having the application highlighted will bring up a menu. Then click search for updates. Your new update will not appear in your notifications download.An odd thing to occur. I almost uninstalled the app.
I have been playing when the game came out and now I am receiving same issues. If I delete and reinstall will I loose my stats?
Hi just tried this but there is no check for updates option in the menu
- Select the battlefield 1 Icon but before you hit X hit the little tiny options button on your controller and it will bring up a side menu
Thanks bro !!! I had to delete some stuff. I didnt even know you could update that way. I been stuck for 3 days.lol
- Normally, the game automatically updates on my ps4. But today it didn't do it automatically. All I had to do was deleting data on my ps4 so there was room for the update. Maybe it's as simple as that your prob.

Im a premium member since 4 month ago (BF1)..but these thing came yesterday.and its say 'new game required update'..wth.!any suggestion?i did email my problem with EA but i havent receive anything from them.

@Pvt_Wily_Stroker most likely has given the answer to your problem, there might be not enough space on your HDD.
Delete some GBs and the Update should start automatically 🙂
- Go to the bf1 icon an instead of starting the game go down into the drop down menu. There shud be 4 boxes the 4th being PlayStation store. Then go across an you should see add ons and select that. It's shud then send a notification to download. If you haven't got a premium pass then it might not work.

- I went to options and their is no update Option. I honestly just don't understand why my other Battlefield works fine and my other EA games online also work fine
Hey @CoLoRadoz_Finest,
Have you tried verifying the files in your PS4 settings, or doing a clean uninstall/reinstall of Battlefield 1?
After you try these, I would do a hard reset on your PS4 (Unplug for a couple minutes, plug it back in) and launch Battlefield 1 again.
Also, are you sure that your PS4 didn't automatically update Battlefield?

- Honestly the craziest thing it hasn't been working for weeks I feel like and then all of a sudden it said there was an update for it , updated currently online now lol

I checked for updates and the game is the latest version and it's still updating in 0% should I wait I little longer?
