punkbuster file memory 85000 for Battlefield Bad Company 2

When I first get into a game, the I immediately get booted and receive the error punkbuster corrupt file/memory 85000. I have checked the punkbuster updates and shows I have most recent version. Whats the fix?

  • I've been having the same problem with Win10. I fixed it by running the game directly form the desktop shortcut in Win7 Compatibility mode. Right click the shortcut, etc. Hope that helps...

  • Many, many people are having the same

    RESTRICTION: Corrupted File/Memory [85000]

    Battlefield Bad Company 2 Punkbuster PROBLEMS....

    i have Windows 8.1

    I wish someone from PUNKBUSTER would PROVIDE a fix or someone from EA    PLEASE

  • OKAY, i looked around and i found this....

    Go to Start

    C:

    Programs Files (x86)

    ORIGIN GAMES

    Battlefield Bad Company 2

    now find BFBC2Game

    and right click on it and then bring up Properties

    Click on Compatibility Tab second from left on top

    now move down to bottom where it reads

    Run this Program to work as an administrator

    click on the box so there is a check mark inside the box

    hit OK

    t ...go to the top of the Compatibility and see where it says Run compatibility troubleshooter

    click on this and the game will start and run as normal

    here is a picture... Don't forget to RUN your GAME ........ RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR from properties. SHOWN HERE http://i.imgur.com/9JkuL31.jpg

    you have to launch the game with this Run compatibility troubleshooter

    i could not get the game to launch the regular way....but at least i managed to get the game running

    Oh and it works on Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4

  • also IF YOUR frame rate IS POOR HERE IS A fix....

    IN WINDOWS 8.1 go to your search and type in "    settings.ini      " file, and alter the following.

    i left my refresh rate as is... but i changed my DxVersion from AUTO to 9

    RefreshRate=60

     DxVersion=9.

    FIXED IT ! for me !

    I have win 8.1 . Same pb problem like you guys and i just fixed it very easy: DEAKTIVATE Origin Ingame for BFBC2!

    (right klick on your game in your library and "game-characteristics..." and make a hook on "Disable Origin in the game for this game".)

    That solved my ...pb corrupted file/memory [85000]... issue. And I also used the method from #rugburn11 and set DirektX from "auto" to "9". And now my bfbc2 is running perfekt like back in those days :D nice and thanks
