PunkBuster issue on Battlefield 2142 while using windows 8.1?

It is utterly disgusting that no one from EA has replied to help you with your issue, clearly they are only interested I. Selling and not what you do with the game after. I find this unprofessional and unacceptable on their part.

Myself already owning Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield 3 Premium and Battlefield 4 Premium; I have therefore been tempted to purchase BOTH Battlefield 2 Complete Edition and Battlefield 2142 Deluxe Edition from the Origin Store at the currently reduced pricing offers they're running as of February 2014. However I've been trying to identify beforehand if these two titles would actually run and perform ok on Windows 8.1 but can't seem to get any information regarding this. Naturally I came across your post during my search for the required info.

Regarding your issue, it would be nice if someone could help resolve it. All I could possibly suggest is that you go into the advanced settings for Windows Firewall and make some exclusive 'exception rules' that allow the game's executable as well as punkbuster A and B through the firewall. You'll have to dig around within the Windows control panel settings to get into the advanced firewall settings to locate the firewall programs exception list or 'allow program through firewall' list. However someone from EA or someone with more experience would assist here.
