This week we have the Capricorn dogtag mission and this month there will also be the release of the second part of the Turning Tides DLC, so they might have some events linked to that. Also the calendar specified exactly the days for the 2x week-ends.
The web team and the dev team were operating with a skeleton crew in december, as you can imagine they are also human beings and have the right to rest. You know, around this time of year a lot of us, are getting a vacation for holidays, to be with the loved ones. Them are no different. And those unlucky people that worked during holidays to cater to the customers deserve a wee bit more than this.
The calendar was always incomplete, covering either big events or DLC launches, but not covering always what would happen outside those. So the only way to know exactly what event we have was to log-in in the game and check.
And it says clearly that the 2x was available only for the Holiday event, with the exact dates when that happened. Each week-end in december, during the event was a 2x week-end. You can also see the exact dates for the missions, log-in rewards and such. The calendar was pretty detailed for the event. But the event ended on January, 1st.
Also, i will point that the xp is meaningless after reaching rank 10 in each class (which can happen really fast). Class rank 10 is the maximum you need to unlock each and every weapon from the base game. The normal rank level will only give you a dogtag at each 10 levels reached (pure cosmetics). The DLC weapons and the perks are unlocked only doing stuff in the game. Again, XP will not do anyhting for you. So once you hit class rank 10, you can play at your own pace. Sooner or later you will be there, hitting the 130 rank level and the 50(60) class levels.
I also work, sometimes 10-12 hours/day, lose around three hours in transit. Somehow i manage to squeeze a half hour/one hour of playing BF1 (or anything else that is allowing me to relax a bit after a hard work day). I prefer to keep my week-ends open for activities with people i care about (family, friends). I prefer to not let a game dictate my life. It's healthier that way. The moments that you can get with your loved ones vastly surpass anything that a game may offer at any given time. Games are supposed to be fun and relaxing and far too many people seem to have forgotten that in our days. If you can get fun from a game, you are better off doing something else. We are tense enough from our modern lives, we don't need to add more stress factors.
