Re: Anti Cheat is probably the most important thing about this game!

I agree, Anti Cheat should be important for BF 2042, we all know from other FPS/Shooters that being in a server with any Cheat/Hack takes all game fun away.  I have seen many attempts of this in past BF games and a lot is still "In the air" about certain features and functions of BF 2042, as always we the Community usually do not get heard until after Day 1 patch, I have very High Hopes for BF 2042 on all levels and from everything I have read and seen this will be a Huge Success, I am looking forward to Battlefield Portal and am stoked over the 128 players.  I have confidence that EA/Dice has the Anti Cheat well devised so it will be a Fair and Fun Game for any Platform.

@BlackbeardrsCheaters are super fun in friendly fire servers, I love Tking them over and over till they leave. The problem with BFV is that there there is no FF option for servers. I have high hopes that FF servers will be available because that is all I play on and you rarely see cheaters.

Well after the FAQ page where they told us we wouldnt have our own servers I have no faith in the clowns at DICE, they made the same gimmick last game when releasing BFVomit,

There will be more about it later ... we are working on it... Instead they did .. nothing  we as community could care for or use in any way.

Stick to BF4, the last game they made that worked.

If BF2042 was a "love letter" I would hate to see a hatemail.

    OK @0ld_yell0w ,

You may already have made your mind up then before seeing it proper or understanding what it is we really get then?  Suggest you give it a fair chance though, as we will indeed ‘have our own servers’ in the sense you can design and setup your own servers in the public space as you like!  And you will also then have full admin options available in those, to kick/ban players as you see relevant.   As far as I understand, then you can also assign co-admin access to your trusted friends.   So all this points towards we will have at least the same admin options as we have in your and our beloved BF4!

So cheer up my friend, even you may have some fun and a future in the BF2042 world!  😃👍💥

We gave them a chance in BF1 but that was horrible. They got another chance in battlefield V. 1 month later the game was half off or more because EA/Dice failed again.

I think I will just wait a month and let the players wearing the rose colored glasses give it a go. then when it goes on sale for half off I might consider it still not getting the game.

EA/DICE can talk and show all the great video they want again and again. When I see it live and in action actually working as intended, then I will believe.

I feel the same. The game looks really good, but without a new AC or rental servers it seems uninteresting. I'm not yet convinced about community servers.

@SirBobdk no anti cheat no battlefield for me it's not more complicated.
There are other games such as hell let loose which are no longer in early access and the devs are listening to their community.
    goodbye BF
  • It’s very simple now dice……. You have to now earn my money as I will no longer buy based on loyalty alone!

Theres many games I haven’t bought due to lack of real anti cheat and your games are of no exception anymore!

I would love to know how many PC players are doing this, everyone I know on console has pre order all my PC friends wont touch 2042 with a bargepole until a month after release.

Sad because I pre ordered every BF up to BF4 and now believe EA/DiCE can no longer release a decent working title on day 1 ☹️

Nice angle to look at this from @D3AD_M3AT_au  !

We wont know what the real numbers are so far, but no doubt that the commercial team at EA are observing the sales numbers for the pre-orders by platform very very closely.  What we don't know yet either are 'the lessons learned' and what EA then will do about it this time around for the BF2042 game.  As Thomas Anderson Director at Ripple Effect said, then they recognize the importance of AC and will share specifics on this with us when we are getting close to the final release date.  Just that in itself are new tones from EA and hope we will see a substantial undertaking from their side to follow through on the great potential BF2042 has if getting this is properly taken care of.

If the PC pre-orders are in the abyss, it will definitely further drive the attention up to the highest level at EA leadership to getting it fixed.  Money talks and so far I still believe we have more honest players than cheats buying BF licenses.  (just go ahead and call me naïve  :o)

Issue I have is we are gamers looking at it from a fans perspective EA are NOT even in the remotest possibility fans or gamers they are money men their only drive is cold hard cash if PC pre orders and 1st quarter earnings are below what ever mythical thresh hold they have then I give the PC version of BF a snow balls chance in hell and we will get the activision narrow mindedness of only console releases.

They will blame us (same as BF5 stupidity) they will drive a wedge between us and we will loose one of the best FPS titles instead of what we consider to be the simplest option of having rental servers and official servers.

It all comes down to money

I made the mistake of purchasing Battlefield 2042 Ultimate Edition on PC.

Why? Because I've not played BFV for a long time, as soon as I saw the first BF 2042 trailer, I decided to start back. So I purchased BF 2042, and then went into BFV to get in touch again...

But guess what, I completely forgot about the hackers!

Lol, I mean have you seen servers with 3 to 5 hackers per team? Well, BFV specializes in it!

I started threads, but they constantly close it down.

And their only way of anti-cheat is by us having to report players which they don't do anything about. Lol hackers reported 1 month ago are still there.

I've no idea if BF 2042 will have anti-cheat, but if they don't, at least they should let us have our own dedicated servers, so we can be admins and perma ban hackers.

But they won't do it either.. so yeah..

What lessons do they have to learn? It should be everyone who has heard the same things release after release, that now we take it seriously and work on it, who should learn the lesson.
Can say that it will look the same as it always has, because the programmers of cheats are not stupid, many of them are of the same caliber as those in the gaming industry and some are even better. So it will be the same old cat and mouse game where the cheaters hold the baton and developers just follow as best he can.
  • This is a fairly toxic thread full of some fairly out there statements..

SO name me a game that has anti cheat sorted ???

Oh who ever is off to Hell Let Loose   please  that is a game with zero anti cheat.   Actually small dev alpha game with dedicated communities means 100%   hacks.

Battlefield has no more or less hacks then any other online game  but does seem to have an over supply of hackuzators..

I mean really if you gave  BF1  and BFV  the miss  what balanced, bug free, hack free game have you been playing the last 5 years.  Honest question I really want to know what I've been missing ??

    @ShevermiN

OH, I've been playing Guild Wars 2. It had a really good anti-cheat system in place. The number of people who can actually bypass the anti-cheat is really low, and even when they do, reporting any possible hacks, the ban was really fast and effective. So yes, there are games out there with really good Anti-cheat.

Really wonder how you can actually support a game like this which does not provide any anti-cheat, THAT FULLY DEPENDS on us reporting in-order for them to even CONSIDER banning someone.

So I pay money to buy this game, come online to report multiple hackers per match and then move on to the next server to repeat the same? That's what we paid for?

Have to say you have been wasting your time for the past 5 years playing trash games, play a proper game from now on..

You sound like a typical cheating lunatic with Battlefield has no more or less hackers than other games, But we all understand that too and we also understand that there are much more cheaters than the cheaters want it to appear as. So talk about toxic as much as you want, but for whom is it toxic? Maybe only for customers of cheats, but not the honest players.
  • This is why I want Bot mode with progression that's roughly equal to MP mode, so no advantage, but still being able to unlock stuff. I don't want to deal with cheaters or people with poor microphone etiquette. I'm over it.

Conversations about cheating or anti-cheat, not something we allow on AHQ. So I will be closing down the topic.
