Re: Banned for getting a refund through PayPal

Hi @Nosferatu676

What you've described doing is a charge-back. Here is EA's stance on charge-backs:

@EA_Help wrote:

Contact us for help before you submit a chargeback on your account

If you are entitled to a refund from EA please contact us. Our processes are set up to ensure that all rightfully claimed refunds are granted. We automatically lock any account where a chargeback is requested to prevent fraud. If your account is locked due to suspected fraud, we’ll send you an email with more information, including how to contact us if you think your account has been locked in error.

The above quote mentions EA's refund policy, I'll pop this EA article that expands on the here for you: "How to get a refund for EA games".

If ever unsure what to do, please know that EA have published official help guides on our EA Help site that outline the best steps to follow to get assistance. For example, the article "View your EA order history and status information" outlines that your  EA Order History for purchases made through Origin can be viewed from your Account Portal and that you can view your Order History at anytime to find details on the date, description, order number, status, and price of your order.

In terms of the ban, it sounds like Terms of Service have responded already and let you know it's been correctly applied. I'm sorry to say that there is nothing that we can do to change this.

  • Alright, if my account was locked due to fraud, I have not received any notification suggesting that nor how to prove it wasn’tfraud. PayPal said they negotiated the refund with you, so how is that fraud. My account was immediately terminated due to charge-back and that was it. I filed a dispute, you kept the ban and rejected my claim. I filed another one. If that gets rejected, what am I supposed to do? The ban has no expiration. I refuse to make a new account. You didn't make refund options through EA easily or readily available. Fix your broken system. Do I have to somehow undo the charge- back and then request a refund with you? I shouldn't have to do that. Getting a refund through the payment processor is perfectly legitimate and shouldn't constitute a ban.

    I hope that you just simply chargedback everything you ever bought from EA and got all your money :D
