Re: Battlefield 1 Dx12 errors

So I played on the single player campaign for about half an hour with the graphics settings on auto. Everything ran smoothly although I would have expected a few more frames from my PC on mostly medium settings. I averaged out in between 35-45. Then i switched to multiplayer. Played in one server a little but was really laggy so quit to join another. I got into that server only for it to crash with a different DirectX message about 5 minutes later. I really have no clue whats causing it. Does anyone else have any insight to this? It appears to be only on the multiplayer games it happens.

Thanks, from a quick skim of your dxdiag I didn't spot any red flags.

2 starter steps would be to run a repair and clean reinstall your graphics card drivers.

To repair, right-click the game panel in Origin and choose the appropriate option.

As for a driver reinstall you can try running the driver package again, and choose custom > Clean install.

Some others also recommend using DDU -a 3rd party driver remover- and installing from scratch.

I've done all of this and my trial is crashing on startup. I was able to play about 3 hours without issue.

@AldermachXI If you swap to Direct X 11 in the game's menu perhaps that'll help.

If this has no effect did anything change on your system since you could play before?

You should find the menu option by starting at the title screen to to More >Options > Video > Advanced Options and there should be a toggle if you have DX12 available.

@EA_David a friend was getting direct X errors last night and deleting his BF1 folder from "my documents" which contains the graphics options solved his problem.

Thanks, Ragnarok. It's definitely something that might help.

For anyone new to the thread, deleting this folder means that the game will create a new default settings file, which can help if there's a problem with the original.

Actually guys, deleting BF1 folder may help but PROBLEM will occur AGAIN in next day when you turn ON your PC and try then play the game.
And yes this happened to me, yes it works when you delete your BF1 folder in mydocuments but in next day it's same story all over again.
I am waiting for proper fix, I can't play BF1 unfortune for now, this is what is preventing me to doing so.

I hope developers of game can really fix this issue VERY soon - and also that NVIDIA will pull on proper drivers, I bet something is wrong here.

Did you change some settings after successfully having played after deleting the folder? If that's the case then the settings you changed are probably the cause.

No I didn't change anything, after I managed setup and adjust everything, I didn't touch anything after this in settings of the game.

DX error came by on the next day. So what to tell? - Seems that I must delete every time my settings BF1 folder (Documents/BF1) that game can work, then making again all over configuration.

All other games (BF4, BFH, etc) SIMPLY work on my PC, it's not my hardware - and my PC is updated with latest software, drivers, etc.
I know, I work on PCs since 1996.

@crogeek If you try manually setting your graphics settings to minimum before shutting the game down and restarting, does that have any effect? It seems that a particular settings configuration is leading to a card crash on startup, perhaps changing this will help?

You say you don't change anything and then right after you say you "adjust everything". To me those two things contradict each other 😛

Should we turn on the DX settings on menu. It says it can improve performance in some cases but can be worst in others.?

@CTRFN2JDM Yep that's worth a shot, as you say some report that DX12 helps, some report that it has a detrimental effect.

After that start the game dont push anything just let the game launch(dont press alt enter), after that (ingame)  go to OPTION->VIDEO->ADVANCED->DX12 Turn it off and restart your game.

This proces solved mine, I hope it might help for you.

Dude, should I take a chalk in my hands and then start painting? - How much of time do I really need to describe what is going on?

I said - WHEN YOU ONCE MAKE YOUR CONFIGURATION (after deleting BF1 folder from MyDocuments/Documents) on the SAME DAY EVERYTHING WORKS, but IF YOU RESTART YOUR computer or if you want to play on the next day a game - then DX crashes will appear again. So

LOGICALLY game is faulty, game is actually corrupting graph. settings file every time when you boot up into system again.
Yes INTERESTING FACT is that the same ERROR occurred on BF4 launch and funny thing is I had to wait like almost 2 months until DICE fixed this BS stuff.
BETA WAS WORKING amazingly (and to other people as well!), so I can't believe my eyes than BETA was much more stable than official launch of the game. Come on - WTF - SECONDLY, I can't believe my eyes that THE SAME ERROR is occurring AGAIN like in BF4 on its launch!!!

And THIRDLY, count just check on forums how many dozens of people have same problem?

No IT'S NOT FAULT IN OUR SYSTEMS, it's fault of the game - simply as that. Only solution is to wait proper patch, until then game is SIMPLY not playable. I HOPE DICE will fix that, otherwise I am gonna refund the game, so for now I wait.
Yes 130 euros is big money if you ask me, and for 130 euros game should work without any issues, but that isn't the case.

Hmm, I will try but I have still my doubts.
And I apologize about my rage - game is epic just it doesn't work for many of people, including me.
