Re: Battlefield 3, BOUGHT via Steam or EA app, Keeps Asking For A Product Key

Hi EA,

I'm writting this message because i can see many people got the same problem and i'll speak for everyone.

Many players bought YOUR game on YOUR origin plateforme a decade ago. Now when we tried, just to start the game. We got an error message wich says "We cannot activated BF3 on your computeur", then you ask us to write the cd key. But we can't put any CD key because we always got this problem " you are not connected to the internet.." A month ago i was playing on origin and everythings was good now, we just cant play. Can someone in the EA team can understand and move his * ? ( this is your job not ours, we just bought your game in order to play not in order to developpe it. In this case we would have studied dev.

Can you do something simple ? we start a game and we play simply

Exactly my problem, I bought the physical media CD in mid-2013, 14, I have until today the key in hand. Unfortunately I started having this problem 1 week ago. My PREMIUM disappeared from the library and I can no longer play, is demanding key.
I hope very much that the EA team solve it soon, but honestly to with very low hopes.
  • @DLOzTOR Did you try the fix in post 181 at the top of this page.

I was getting exactly the same pop-up window when trying to launch Battlelfield 3. Fixed in ten seconds.

However it might now work, as some folk on this page already said it did not work for them. Or they do not have the required folders. There has to be a way to find those folders though. Maybe they use a different operating system and files are in another place. I use Windows 10.

There is no risk involved in trying the fix. All I did was drag the file out of folder and put it on my desktop, so I could return it if needed. However once I removed it, B3 launched first time and has done ever since. When it launches the game it must replace the missing file in the Licence folder, with a working one. Or one that applies to the EA App, rather than Origin. Since when I looked afterwards, the file was where it should be, in the Licence folder. ... (I then deleted the old file off my desktop.) Everything working.

  • I have that problem too, i've tried every kind of fix in internet but none of them works for me
