They are still selling the game as its not killed officially. But the process is progressing.
I`ve spent over 5k hours ingame, such a shame it all is about to be wasted.
BF6 will most likely look like 2042 by the way, so the end of BF3 is the very end of Battlefield series as for me. EA is aiming at kids now, 2042 Fortnite-like crap.
This couldn't be more true. All games have gone this route thinking these jerky movements are somehow going to fix the ADHD kids without their meds. EA I'm sure has sent an internal memo trying to kill the game off. There will be no fix. It will be as you stated, "Low player base" and will be used for their reason to shut it all down.
It's very frustrating that a breakdown created in 1 day will apparently be solved for 1 year (or not solved at all).

Not solved is always the "best solved" for EA
So, a server admin of a server I visit a lot had a bit of a test, and think they may have found the cause (possibly).
They had quite a few maps on, and with map voting on. They reduced the maps down to three, and turned map voting off.
All worked well, battlelog was showing correct people in, correct map. The server reboots daily, and it still worked for two or so weeks.
Then, they popped the map voting back on. Was working still that same night, but once the server was rebooted (its the hosting company that does it), the server had issues.
Taken map voting off again, and its seems to be working again.
So, for any of those admins out there, do you have map voting on? Just curious if that is the cause.
I'll ask when I'm next on which plugin they use (via Procon) so it may help others if there are a few versions etc.
We've known about it being a map voting issue. However, it's also a more than 1 map issue as the server still has to be restarted without votemap. Just takes a lot longer for the crash to happen.
hello again, just adding more than one map to the server will create the problem even without the voting plugin,
the only way i'm changing maps during game time is waiting for the round to end then going to map list, remove the running map & adding another one, right click set as next map,
all this in this small window between rounds, this way the server will stay stable & accepting new player without issues,
if you do this during the round it will create a problem most of the time denying new players to join & back to square one,
i hope they will fix this issue one day

For the changing of the map in your server, do you only have one map on now by default, hence removing the current map and adding a new one?
If so, I'll suggest that to them, I'm assuming that also on server reboot it stays on that new current map (when they mentioned to the hosting company there was issues as they thought it was just them, the company reboots daily).
Hopefully they can fix this (I say hope, as they have issues of releasing a patch and breaking things)
yes i have only one map by default & i'm already have my server set to auto restart daily before this issue started to happen,
just leave one map, any map in procon map list always & change it in game if needed at the end of the round when count down starts for next round.
Bumping this back up to keep the server issues to ensure EA continues to ignore the issues.
Okay EA, we will buy BF3 from you with your Battlelog servers. Just fix it and give us the price as money is all that counts for you

We still have problems with our servers after last maintenance.
Servers disappear from Battlelog, won`t let players join while everything looks good from admins/mods side. Our servers are not the culprit.
Come on, I know it`s marked as "solved" but it isn`t solved at all. We are aware BF3 will be killed by you one day, but let us enjoy this magnificent game to the very end.
@EA_Leeuw please remove the solved status from this post until it's solved, we as admins & players still stressed facing an unknown form of problem caused by EA & who ever is running battlelog & you still didn't find that whole in the wall caused by some kind of nerd who thinks he did great by changing some kind of code since April WHAT A SHAME

have friends that wants to buy the game & join again the bf3 community
they must fix this issue & start planning on relaunching BF3 2024 with same maps & game play but more resolution etc,,,

I have BFs from 3 to 2042. Dear EA, the reason we fight for BF3 is simple. It was a decent game, actually one of your best games. It`s not only about the sentiment. Your new Battlefield productions don`t stand even close to the BF3. Yeah, new games have better graphics, BF5 has a pleasant weapon handling, but 2042 is to be honest just a crap for teens who got bored with Fortnite. We know you`re making BF6 which is supposed to be simillar to BF3 and BF4. If you kill BF3 just give us a good alternative to play and don`t force us to play 2042, for sure we won`t do it. Make a solid BF3 succesor. We are your clients, we pay you for games so i believe we should have a voice here. If you forgot how to make good games you can CHECK the movie below
