well I got it now

Hard to say what I did

Was reinstalling origin (not using origin beta) every time I wanted to retry the BF4 installation

I have also replaced _Installer\vc\vc2012Update3\redist\vcredist_x64.exe as was suggested in other Thread with this:

and also installed everything manually in _Installer folder before doing installation

Just mess with it while reinstalling origin everytime you get stuck somewhere.

Weird.

I already have latest versions of the VC redist packages installed, DirectX is installed already as well, and so are the damn web plugins and PB. Basically, everything else but the game is fine.

Well now its saying that game needs to be updated.

I click on update.

And its stuck at checking for update -.-

you mind giving a little more info? clicking "do not update" where?

when u join a server it asks you to update

you have 2 options

"update" or "not now"

u click on not now and u wait a bit and the game should open

hmm I don't get that option mine comes up with a box that says "Install Now"

I just read somewhere that installing vcredit_x86 might fix it but I need to restart so brb

I'm not seeing many errors here..

But the time's from 2 hours ago, I don't think it recorded the last two million install attempts I made during that time

your game is officially installed without any single error 4rctic

lol apparently not because it still shows up with a play symbol next to it asking me to install, now that I think about it that log could be someone else's because I used a torrent to check for any corruption in my files, yes utorrent can tell me if my bf4 client is corrupt or not but origin can't, quite sad isn't it?

Think I got it working, here's exactly what I did:

Went to the Security Tab of the redist folder, gave Everyone, Administrators and my current account full permission, applied

Tried to install, failed,

Went to the logs, it was complaining that GDFBinary_en_US was missing, this was because I saw this show up in someone else's log

in this thread and I thought moving it might help.

So I moved the file back to where it was supposed to be, tried to install again.

Worked.

Now there's a number 2 next to Battlefield 4 instead of the play symbol

I just double clicked BF4 in Origin to try playing it and it asked if I wanted to update, I'm going to take neoony's advice and say no, I don't want this piece of **bleep** to have any more problems than it already has
