Re: Battlefield 4 preload error

Disabling my HTTP Proxy firewall rule resolved my issue.

Intersting that this is the only piece of software that is having problems with this normal / security firewall rule.. what gives EA? Call me over protective, but i would rather have a secure network...but I want to play this game.

Just thought I would add some more details if it may apply to others.

I dont utlize a "Software" firewall, I use a hardware based firewall (Watchguard XTM23-W). I utlilze HTTP "Proxy" Firewall rules in order to use software based security services , such as AV, Content Filters, Spam...

These rules "pull apart" network packets and drops those packets which are flagged by the proxy settings or the services that I have running against the rule.

I dont have issues with any other software that I run with this rule, expect for today with this EA origin BF4 preload.

EA needs to evaluate why they need a "DMZ" to all us to download their games...

Then add the files of System Drive(C: / D: whatever it may be)/Program Files/Origin (or may be x86) to the allowed list in firewall application settings and you would be fine with firewall allowed. Origin and its components are trustworthy and no need to worry.

Its basically an issue with your proxy firewall rules which are blocking Origin components.

    Hope that helps.

I have windows 8.1 firewall off.

Thanks , I will look into my firewall rules for over agressive filtering and consult watchguard for guidence.
