When I want to start the game, there is an error:

ERROR
Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster kicked player 'Erundo' (for 0 minutes) ... RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrA.exe

What does that mean and why comes that error?

Sorry for my bad english I'm Germa

Hello,

Make sure your anti-virus is not blocking punkbuster, also check windows firewall.

Punkbuster has 2 services running in the background in order to check your PC for hacks or 3rd party programs influencing the game.

They are called:

PnkbstraA

In order to enable both do:

1. Press Windows button and R at the same time

2. enter "Services.msc"

3. Locate PnkBstraA on the list

4. Mark both and select "Start the service" on the left side.

4B. If already running restart it.

This should resolve your issue.

Regards, Libever

looks like he's already here 🙂

Just got back to the game after 5 months, kind of ridiculous we have to do all this just to play the game. No effort into the punk buster update

The majority of you may have been banned by punkbuster. You need to launch the game from battlelog: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/

The blue bar at the bottom of the screen will turn red/orange and display a message regarding the punkbuster kick after you have attempted to join a server via battlelog.

It may take 30 seconds for the blue bar to turn red.

I will be curious to see what violation # you are given via the aforementioned, if any. Please post back to this thread with the information shown in battlelog/message from punkbuster.

@USMCss07 Yeah the red bar for me pops up and says "Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster permanent ban issued on this Game Server for player 'Samurai-Doom-Guy' ... Prior Kick/Ban". I've never played on that server before so it couldn't be possible for me to have a prior kick/ban. It must have thought I was cheating because I scored too many points in a short amount of time (which I've heard can happen) when I got behind the enemy team and killed a bunch of them + revived and healed teammates. So I probably got banned for cheating even though I'm not a cheater. Thanks punkbuster.

Are you sure? Sounds like a local server ban to me. If it were a global punkbuster ban it would say you had a global ban in the message. If it were from a third party anti cheat site then it would say so with their name and a # violation. Can you play on other servers?

Edit: fyi, server admins can ban players locally off their servers using punkbuster.

Are you able to join other servers? If not; do you get the same message?

  • @USMCss07
This is the message that I keep getting though I have never hacked or downloaded anything as I can't afford to.
Is there anything I can do or is this it?

    ERROR
Game disconnected: you were kicked by PunkBuster. Stated reason: PunkBuster kicked player 'jimmydaflea' (for 2 minutes) ... Violation (GAMEHACK) #84180
  • Yep, this is what I get, there is no way in hell was I banned for any kind of cheats, I created a ticket with PB and still haven't heard from them so I don't know what else I can do. This is really * up, I hate ea and pb

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about Evenbalance (makers of PunkBuster) banning your account. It is become very evident that EA would much rather you purchase another copy of the game (to increase their revenue) than to deal with their agent in fact, Evenblance, and all these many erroneous bans that have been being issued on a regular basis for over a year now.

Again, and you will find this to be true if you attempt to seek "help" from EA: they will state that EB and the product PB are out of their control...this is a bold faced lie however. If you search my previous posts on the legal doctrine of agency, you will see that they can indeed act. Unfortunately, they are another one of the many corporations that would rather do things unethically to garner great profits...leading to litigation as a solution and only solution for consumers. This goes along the lines of "throwing money at the problem via arbitration" as it is much better on a basis of profitability to go that route. Think about it: if all players whom had their account banned (stolen) in error were to file a class action suit naming EA and EB, it would take at least a year if not more to reach a court or arbitration hearing. The resulting judgement against EA/EB, lets say $100,000 plus attorneys cost, would no doubt be far less than the profits they have received from those players that did not know about the lawsuit and simply repurchased the game over these last several years. Remember, neither EA or EB will provide you with evidence as to why you were banned. With no evidence or substantiation of violating rules provided by EA or EB, yet committing a criminal act of theft, they do not stand on solid legal ground.

@USMCss07 Is there a law suit about this? It would be a justified reaction to a dictatorial company policy. I also have been banned by Evenbalance due to them saying I hacked, but I have no way to rebut their allegations, they don't answer any requests, neither Evenbalance nor EA.
