Right click BF4 in origin and press "Repair"
didn't want to start yet another thread so I thought I would jump in here.
I to am having trouble with the game, first explain my problem then I will list what steps i have done to try and correct.
Bought the game 3 days ago.
Downloaded and installed.
Launch, get a window pop up for about 10 seconds...
Crashes on launch "Battlefield 4tm has stopped working"
Have looked on forums everywhere and tried to resolve the issue.
restarting/rebooting between each step below
Updated all drivers using driver detective.
cleared cookies and browsing history
ran sfc /scannow, with errors
used dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
re-ran sfc /scannow, with ZERO errors. ran twice to ensure success
no success.
un-installed bf4
deleted all bf4 directories
ran CC Cleaner, and then ran it on registry.
re-ran sfc /scannow, with ZERO errors. ran twice to ensure success
re-installed directX, C++ and .NET framework
re-ran sfc /scannow, no errors
re-downloaded bf4 in one download, no interuptions or pausing
installed bf4
no success
set game to run as administrator for x32 and x64 exe's
disabled origin in-game
disabled origin cloud
removed HD drivers
ran CHKDSK, no errors
repaired install of BF4
manually installed and updated punk buster.
tried launching with firefox as well.
turned off all background programs including virus scanner
still no success. I still have not successfully launched the game once. Black screen with flashing _ did go full screen once before crashing, as far as I have got.
I remember having major issues like this with bf3 when i bought that on pre-order when that came out, and had similar issues, but on a different rig.
i am out of ideas on what to do next.
included is my dxdiag below.
would really appreciate the help

Ok this error ... Faulting module name: nvwgf2umx.dll, is from the Nvidia card driver what I did with this is.... I will look at others semi hard to read lol give me a few. 😕mileyvery-happy:
Get new video card diver or beta on desktop we need to get you a fully clean install of it after steps below.
So what I need you to do download CC cleaner the free version and install CC cleaner on your PC.
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
Remove the video card driver using the tools area of CC cleaner then reboot the PC.
When windows loads it will install a driver thats normal no big issue, once back on desk top then open CC cleaner again. This time go to the registry area and scan for issues , then pick fix selected issues it will give you the choice to do a back up. Then pick fix all selected issues you may have a ton of issues if you never have used this before its normal. Then reboot your PC again and do all the registry steps again until it finds none. Reboot your PC after you do each scan on registry. Once it finds none then move to the next step.
Now install the video card driver new one or beta when done reboot.
Next test bf4 if you still have issue ....
Try repair game or do this step again as the BF4 cfg could be messed up.......
BF4 folder in my documents holds game configs and screen shots even if BF4 is installed on different drive. When you uninstall BF4 it does NOT remove this folder. So when you install the game again you can still have the same issues.
1- Go to my Documents and remove BF4 folder place it on your Desktop or trash.
2- Be warned you do have to set up your in game settings again.
3-Repair BF4 If it fails reboot your PC and run repair game again and test BF4.
4- When done go test your game.
Now test BF4 againEdit for this one ..... error code is 43. The Windows SChannel error state is 252. from Origin no big deal from what I can see. If I recall correct once I set origin to run as admin it went poof gone from event Viewer error. So try this ..
Run Origin as Administrator:
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin and right click on Origin.exe and go to properties. Then go to compatibility tab and check the box next to RUN AS ADMIN.
or it was this I did in the registry sorry was back in May I did all this but I do recall living in my registry fixing stuff 😕mileyembarrassed:Edit...
This Event ID 36888 occurs if a user tries to access a web site using HTTP but specifies an SSL port in the URL. For example, http://hostname or https://hostname.
If some user access the website with the URL http://hostname:443, then this event will be logged. You can check the Schannel tracing log to confirm the scenario.
If no issue is found, you can simply disable this Schannel event logging by changing the following registry value to 0.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\EventLogging
So for now try what I posted this puppy is the issue for the error in BF4.... Faulting module name: nvwgf2umx.dll, So do the video card driver by the steps I posted with CC cleaner and do all steps fully and test BF4 and post back. And dont forget what I posted on my page reg this error it shows up from time to time but repair game does fix it and if repair game finds nothing reboot and repair game again. A buddy of mine kept getting this error after he did all my steps and I had him remove the video card audio diver and it fixed it.
Update your graphics card drivers and it should fix it.
You my friends are my hero's
a log of actions that I took that corrected for future refrence, and maybe update you list
did everything on your help page.;
but still had issues
uninstalled my video card, rebooted.
CCclearner kept finding issues with Nortons. Uninstalled reboot Nortons, reboot and a-re run of CC celaner, no issues
Reinstalled virus scanner, reboot and a-re run of CC celaner
downloaded Nvidia G-force experience (http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience/download)
updated drivers
reboot and a-re run of CC celaner. all clear.
BF4 launches
I am very thankful for the assistance recieved by you two, esspecially Zorlacc and the time you must put into helping people with their issues.
Np, glad it works for you now 😕mileyvery-happy:
Sweet happy its fixed for you and your very welcome and thank you much for your words and XP's 😕mileyhappy:... this error can show up again but just run repair game and it should be good to go. Only time I had crazy issues again was after the last DLC came out and had to repair game like 6x I think. But on a happy note this is when I found the trick for repair game.... if it finds nothing reboot PC then run repair game again.
I have played campaign from start to finish now, way to easy, but
now when I play multiplayer after playing for 15 minutes I get disconnected,

Very thank you so much for your answer. But until now I still have not found an effective method. Reinstall the system, reinstall the game, DX, C++, add instruction, repair the game, EA service, all of no use. If possible, I hope someonecan help me remote. Thank you again, and those people who helped me
Hi AmberPush if you can tell us the error source / Faulting module name like Rekit did then we may be able to help you. The trick to fixing this error is finding out what is doing it and fixing it. Go into your PC event Viewer and have a good look at the errors.
To find event viewer ... Control Panel / Administrative Tools click on event viewer then go to event viewer local at the top, this will show you your windows errors.

0xc0000005
😕mileyhappy: I need a bit more information from you , I know your on win7 from your first post but more what I need is the event id and source . So far from what I can find this is from a windows update but I want to be sure before I give you steps to fix this. So event id and Source please .
I am thinking 0xc0000005 is the event id and I could be wrong 😕mileylol: so spell it out for me ......I need both source and event id
Edit ......Faulting module name: as well
- Anonymous12 years ago
I'm sorry, I don't know very much about these. I may provide the wrong information, I will try to BF4 now, if I will provide you with the latest event information collapse.
Its ok this is how we learn this stuff and we all start someplace 😕mileyhappy: It was not until I had a war on my PC with this error did I start to learn event viewer more 😕mileylol: I felt like I lived in event viewer for a week . 😕mileylol:

I found a piece of information,“Display driver nvlddmkm has stopped responding, and has been successfully restored.” but this time did not show "has stopped working", I was through the task manager to end it. It still occupies only 2GBram, but what specific information I have not found applications in this column.
So nvidia card that error can be due to dust inside PC and few other things as well. If you have a can of air turn off pc and unplug it and blow it out with can of air/ blow out video card fan as well with air.
Other then this it is a good chance your BF4 stopped working is also from video card driver. The thing about this error once you do clean it up /fix it well it can show up again and it can take a few repair games just to give you a heads up. Nothing is fast to fix this error as I found out and it will show up again once in a few but repair game can fix it once you fix driver.
So lets start with this first settings this has to be done to stop issues with this game..
Run the game as Administrator:
Go to the Origin games folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4) and find Bf4.exe. Right click it and go to PROPERTIES, then COMPATIBILITY and check the box next to RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR.

3-Under when launching this game set it to x64 and check off disable origin in game.
4- Hit apply and test you BF4Next part...
This time go to the...must do this to fix this error...> registry area and scan for issues , then pick fix selected issues it will give you the choice to do a back up.
Now test BF4 again then post back if you still cant ditch this error then we need to take a harder look at errors in your event viewer :/
