Re: FIX: Black Screen while trying to launch BF4 in Windows 10 Build 17134

Hey @Norrox Thanks for the information, could you write down the steps you have tried to solve this. So, we don’t send the same steps you have already tried, and can you upload a dxdiag so we can see what drivers and hardware you are using.

    Try this ...

    Note : You may experience a black screen when launching Battlefield 4 while using the Windows Aero theme with DPI scaling set to 150% or 200%

    Go to my documents and battlefield 4 folder delete it.
    Open origin go to BF4 game right mouse click it repair game.
    Once done then pick update game when done test BF4

    Latest version of DirectX see this page

    Reinstall Microsoft C++
    NOTE>>> you need to select the x64 or the x86 file depending on what architecture your computer has. To find this out, Click Start, right click on "Computer" and select "Properties". Under system type is should say "32-Bit Operating System" or "64-bit Operating System". If 32-bit operating system, download the x86 file, and if 64-bit download the x64 file.

    Reboot PC test BF4

    Try to run the game as Administrator as well.
    Right-click the game executable or shortcut and select "Run as administrator".

    Still no go???? Ok keep trying and do these

    Perform a clean boot. If a clean boot is the fix then you need to take a look at programs installed on your PC and find the one doing it. I have a list of programs to make issues in BF4 if you need it.

    Other things to do...

    Open up a Windows Explorer folder and navigate to C:\Program Files(x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 4, and find a file called user.cfg and open it with Notepad.
    Note if you do not have this file, you will be unable to perform this workaround.

    Find and delete the line that reads UI.DrawEnable, then save and close your config and start your game and you should no longer be experiencing this crash.
