Re: Imbalanced games and incorrect physics

I agree that balance 'fixes' have made things worse after the patches they made after release. I guess all godlike scriptwriters are drawn from the team to do other things with their time.  I also totally agree that all weapons have too little damage unless you find a server (if any) that runs 200% damage which is hard to find. This is why i have enjoyed rifles-only (custom\ back to basics\ conquest) servers for quite a while and i am sad they are now empty. How the game operates is greatly adjusted to gameplay experience and user feedback and is indeed greatly simplified. EA in total concentrates mostly in user friendly easy to play games and is not into war simulators. For this have a look at bf / Arma Project Reality it is an awesome experience.

I will have to try Arma and have thought about it for a while. While I'm not asking for total realism, I'm asking for some reasonable amount of realism that is easy to logically discern. I get some of the play is supposed to be arcade-ish, but when it comes to horses that act like tanks and sniper rifles that have less damage up close than they do far away, that's just plain not realistic. The thing that sucks me into buying these games is that at first the physics and balancing are pretty spot on, then a bunch of people who can't play get all up in arms about it and complain and then the companies cave in to coding the game to cater to their every need. Just accept the way it was made, the trains, zeppelins, etc... don't matter any more for winning a game and they used to when the game first came out. There's no balancing which makes it no fun. As far as BF V goes, I see they are already having issues selling the game, and I'll be one of those people who hold out until I figure out if they are gonna pull the same * as before.
