Some older games cannot be registered in Origin at this time. 
This includes Battlefield 1942 Games that cannot be redeemed in Origin

 

Make sure Windows is up-to-date and the Service Pack 1 is installed.

Here is how to Troubleshoot Installation Issues

OS: Windows Vista (Service Pack 1) 32-Bit
Processor: 1 GHz
Memory: 512 MB
Hard Drive: 2.5 GB
Graphics card: DirectX 9.0c compatible
Sound card: DirectX 9.0c compatible
Peripherals: Keyboard and Mouse
