The leaderboards got removed because the used world map has been deprecated and is not working anymore.

(Maybe directly opening them over the URL, might still be possible. Don't have it in my head atm)

    Correct @aghiad19 ,

Currently the access to the Battlelog Leaderboard is missing and as result you have no access to launch the Phantom Program assignments!

The link to the Leadership Board disappeared a few weeks back, when EA team were working to fix some bugs in the Battlelog system.

    We discussed it here:

Re: Battlefield 4 leaderboards not working - Page 2 - Answer HQ

I would think that EA could enable the access to the stats pages and the Leadership Board without the need for the world map sub-page, so still hope that they would being it back.

But question is if they discontinued it all together, as if EA also stopped the backend database server required for accumulating all the player statistics.

Its all coming at a price ($) and the game is getting real old by now, so time also comes when we all have to move along.

A clear messaging on such decisions from EA would however always be appreciated by all the players, instead of sneaking around about it and we are left in the dark...

It's called caring about your customer and the customer experience!

  • @CyberDyme Most of us "moved along" to BF1 and BF:V, and found them sorely lacking, ergo, we've come back to BF4 bcause the flow is right, the game is balanced, and no single class has an advantage over the others *cough*BF:V assault *cough*. 4 was the apex of the BF games, there's 25 to 30 full servers on the weekends, and at least 15 to 20 on week nights. 1 and V get stale after a round or two, where I i can play a 3200 ticket BF4 round that lasts an hour, and be excited for the next match, BF4 never gets old or stale, which is why so many of us are still here.. Cheers

    Totally agreed @ZombieP1ow ,

Also returned myself entirely dedicated to BF4, after first the BF1 and then the BFV disappointments...

Running also a very popular 3200 ticket Metro server, which is full 24/7 for the meat grinders.  ;o)

So we are all aligned.  :o)

  • Okay, after reading Randy's previous post I dug around the page some more and after some time figured it out:

You need to go to battle log > hover over your name in the top bar > click on the "profile" drop down section > now click the "EDIT PROFILE" button on that new page > go down to the bottom of the new page and click on "Set Location" > now you can click the skull in the bottom left corner.

Very infuriating! It took me hours of digging around the internet and battlelog. I hope this helps anyone still looking and it would be nice if EA made it more easily accessible in the future instead of buried deep under page after page.

    *** EDIT ***

Through random looking through battlelog I stumbled upon a much faster way to access the map:

    • Hover over your name in the top bar and select "Feedback & Suggestions"
    • Scroll down the newly opened box and click "Global Leaderboards"
    • Click the skull in bottom left corner

I miss the little rush I'd get opening up the weapons on BFBC2 stats and I was number one with M1 kills for a while. God, I loved that gun.

It's nice to know where you sit on the food chain.

I still get updates at the end of games stating "blah blah blah position in the world has been updated" So all the information is being recorded and stored, we just can't see it anymore.

    Agreed @ZombieP1ow ,

Its unfortunate that EA decide to pull the plug on such features that costs nearly nothing to keep running for us.

When finding the backdoor back into the global leadership board as described here above, then its clear though that it does no longer update the data in it.  So obviously EA also cut the feature to accumulate the player data from their server hosting partners across the world.  Would have been more forthcoming if EA instead would be fully transparent on such decisions with their customer base.  (us, the players, who bought their product, paid their salaries, bonuses and made their shareholders profit).

  • Yeah it's rather unfortunate. A once maligned Battlelog eventually become a great HUB for Battlefield players. The global leaderboards were a great feature and I'm rather saddened by their removal and the complete abandonment of Battlelog, it finally came into it's own during Battlefield 4. EA just gave up on this service as it was getting good. Whatever happened to let something breathe and develop. Now it's if they don't have immediately gratification they pull the plug.
