Make sure you download the Origin client from https://www.origin.com and that you run the installer by rightclicking it and then "run as administrator".

I wish they had a 64 bit version. Even if I can get the 32 bit version to run, everything's annoyingly small!
Well, @SterlingARCH3R 😛 64 bit or 32 bit has absolutely nothing to do with how big the software appears on the screen. The advantages of 64 bit is stuff like wider datapaths, larger integer sizes, eight octet memory addresses which as a result makes you able to utilize more than 4GB of memory on your system but as Origin never will take up even close to 4GB that advantage is rather pointless.

Hey @cluto1,
could you try to disable your antivirus software and firewall during the installation?
If that doesn't do the trick, you can also try to set up a new Windows User Account. Here's how you do that on Windows 10 or Windows 7/8. Make sure the new account is an admin account - reboot your PC, log on with the new windows user and try to install Origin again.
How do I get Origin to appear larger? It's so minuscule while every other program is "normal".

Can you post a picture? It seems quite normal sized to me.
