Re: Permissions to put Battlefield 4 trailers on my Youtube channel (NONE-PROFIT)

The general rule is that you you can stream or upload all the gamefootage you want. However if you want to monetize the footage you have to write PermissionRequests@ea.com or join a syndication that already has the rights.

I don't know about EA's trailers, you might want to email EA about that.

I however don't know why you would even bother to to reupload the gametrailers to Youtube, they are already on Youtube and Youtube is already a mess with reuploads, I don't see why you would want to contribute to the confusion - just link to the trailers on EA's Youtube page, makes everything much easier.

I emailed them about this about a month ago and got this response.
Dear Adam,

EA appreciates the passion that players have for our games, and we’re always excited to see the creativity that comes out of our community. EA doesn’t object to fair uses of video footage or screen shots from publicly released versions of our games, including on YouTube channels which are commercialized. We do reserve the right to address any inappropriate use of our content. Additionally, because many of our games include content that is licensed or may otherwise have usage restrictions, and because of the large volume of inquiries we get from the community on videos, we aren’t able to grant specific approvals or respond to all follow up inquiries. Thanks, and have fun!

Basically you should be fine, but be wary of third party songs in their game. I accidently got a video blocked world wide because of the song at the beginning of Battlefield 4. I will be more careful. So, mute out any third party songs.

I would like to point out that they have allowed a video that was just a portion of gameplay they showed at E3 to remain up. Here is the video as proof https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Z6ycGjTeXA It has been up for over a year now and is the most viewed video on my channel, though so others are get more views daily now.

I know it may seem pointless, but if you look at my channel.. Empty.. Boring.
Of course I may do Battlefield videos of my own one day when I'm actually ready to
do so, maybe even upload other peoples videos as a promoter of some sort. Like
those music promoters you see all around Youtube, works in the same sort of way.
Not everyone knows about Battlefield, as you can imagine, so if you have a promoter
that let's say.. Been playing a variaty of different games around the web (Game servers)
Well, that require a internet connection is what I mean; Let's say I was doing amazing on
this server for whatever reason and people ask if I have a Youtube or find my Youtube
for them selfs, they then can explore what videos I've obviously uploaded and try out
different games for once.
I know that all seemed like a mess.
Never the less!
