Re: [ps3] Joysticks Rapidfire
Hi Casamic94,
To be honest the rapidfire controller is as much hoax as the mechanical keyboards. (No flamewar intended)
I personally own one for the Xbox and it is not an improvement worth paying $39.99 or risk ruining your controller for.
If you look at the following article:
http://www.daskeyboard.com/blog/?page_id=1458
This explains how the mechanical switches for keyboards work in quite good detail. ( I KNOW you want the PS3 controller, it's just to give a visual effect) )
Jump to part 5: Common Key Switches
in order to see the different switches.
The Red switch is similar to how a normal controller functions.
The Brown switch is how the modified controller functions (in theory)
As you can see on the Red switch it reacts to hitting the bottom (when it flatlines)
However the Brown switch reacts to your press halfway down and causing it to start "Spray" fire faster.
I have both a mechanical keyboard for my main gaming PC and a "normal" keyboard for my laptop and yes it does feel a lot better, however it does honestly not react faster than a normal keyboard. The same goes for the controller VS an expensive Razer Onza controller.
I find that my fingers feel less painful after longer sessions of gaming, but I am still bad at the game :D
