Re: [PS3] This is absolutely ridiculous

There may be external issues right now not related to your connection creating the lag but here are a few steps that you can do with the PS3 to minimize or mitigate lag and freezing:

1. hard wire your console into the router
2. turn off the PS3 media server - this allows other devices to log into the PS3 to access media and is a resource hog taking up resources that BF4 desperately needs. Go to >Settings>Network Settings>Media Server Connection and DISABLE!
3. Rebuild your PS3 Database (don't worry you won't lose any data) as described here - this solves many PS3 centric problems: http://www.ps3blog.net/2011/01/28/tips-and-tricks-ps3-rebuild-database-faq-recovery-menu/
4. Ensure that your console HDD isn't almost full
5. Make sure that your console is clean and dust free in an open space - heat makes computers (and consoles) run slower.
6. coordinate with your family members\roommates to ensure nobody is using too much bandwidth while you play online.
7. Cycle the power on your router to ensure that you have a good connection.

***Most importantly play in your own region. That means you will have to use server broser and click R3 to select your filters to include only servers in your own region but the result is worth it.
