Hi @Nemocdt ,

What you write is correct and its not something that EA will be looking into fixing or doing anything about, in games like BF4, for which they already years back discontinued any further updates on the player side software on your PS4.

Despite what one write to you here above (which is not correct) then you should always try and play on BF4 servers that are located within your own local region.  And there are not any region for each country.  Not at all.  These are all the regions existing in the BF4 world:  North America, South America, Antarctica, Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania. Ad mind you, ot all of them do still have servers running, meaning that players left behind in those regions are therefore searching and joining servers far away from their physical location.

And here comes now the problem:  Server owners cannot block high latency players, despite just having a few of such far out of region players coming onto your server, will cause it to start to lag and rubberband.  Totally destroying the pleasure of the gameplay for all the other players on it.

So best is for you to find some servers where the admin team are more vigilant and who kicks off players that are connecting from far way.

A these players otherwise appear with that huge lag your described and with limited to no hit registration, despite that you may empty a full clip into their backs!

Based in Europe, anywhere really, you will typically have a latency of 11-32 milli seconds to the European BF4 server park!

US based players will be able to connect this same server with a latency around 85-160 milliseconds, which is all acceptable levels of latency.  Its first when you get up around 180-200 milliseconds that it starts to be noticable.  Above that, then severe lag and bullet sponging will start!  Aka South America players connecting to a European server is no good, as they are often up in the 600-900 milliseconds range!    Same as well with Chinese or Japan players on a European server.

Send me a private message if any specific questions on this, as have all the tech insights and facts on this subject.

Otherwise feel free to ask more here in the forum!

In any case, BF4 is still a great fun game!  You just to need to ensure that your play on servers in your region with a good trusted admin team!
