Yeah I think it's entirely down to where your reviver thinks you are. +xp to Lapis

I find it usually happens when killed by a big explosion. As mentioned the game doesn't try to sync corpse position so you'll often see a medic run over 10m away from you, then you'll quantum leap over to where your corpse was on his screen.
