Re: Why I can't unlock the M1911 in BF3 ?
Before when the game first came out. All you had to do what register for the EA Gun Club. But I hear that page doesn't exist anymore. Even after my account was hacked and I had to start all over, I couldn't access the Gun Club. So what I did was add a secondary Battlefield to my My Games inventory on Origin.
What you need to do to get the M1911 sidearm is to go back to the Origin overlay.
-Click on Store, which is to the right of My Games at the top. It should show you the games for sale. (Obviously)
-Next you want to hover your mouse over the Free Games option. It should have a drop down list when done.
-Click on Free To Play.
-Scroll down to the last game, Battlefield Play4Free.
-Click on Play Now.
Once you have a secondary Battlefield game in your My Games section on Origin, you will have unlocked the M1911. Make sure you exit out of the Battlelog and then reenter after adding the second Battlefield game. To let the Battelog catch up to the change on Origin.
The M1911 comes with the stock variant, Tactical Light variant and a suppressed variant. Do not confuse this unlock-able weapon with weapons unlocked in Co-op. Like the MP412REX or the 93R. Later on, after purchasing the End Game DLC. You can work towards unlocking the M1911 S-Tac achievement.
