Rent A Server Settings

Hi,

Can anyone please help me out? I'm renting some servers and i don't know half of what the settings are due to no informative description.

Does anybody have some form of information that tells you more about each setting? (Particularly 'Latency Lock' and 'Aim Assist")

Thanks in advanced.

  • Latency Lock gives you the ability to cap the ping on your server, so say you set it at 100ms, only people with 100ms connections and lower may play in that particular match. If you are hosting a special event for people around the world this could cause some problems (particularly for people across the pond); I personally use no lock but it's entirely up to you.

Aim assist helps console players snap to targets better since controllers aren't nearly as accurate as M&K - There are two types of aim assist: auto-rotation and slowdown. Auto-rotation is your classic auto aim where your reticle snaps to an enemy for you to a degree, slowdown makes it so you don't accelerate your aim from 0-100 right away when you hold the right stick as far as it goes (this allows you to fine-tune your aim on the fly).

So with aim assist, is it best to turn off both options or leave slowdown on?

People tend to turn off rotation to give the server a more competitive feel; slowdown is usually left on.
