Resolution Bug after Tsar Patch (PC)

The resolution of the game automatically set to 4k @ 30hz after the Name of the Tsar update. Every time I try to set it at 4k @ 60hz it will not apply the video settings and reverts back to 30hz. I set the resolution to 1080p @ 60hz and it was fine. Then when I tried to set it at 4k @ 60hz it seemingly stayed on the option until I backed out of the options section, and then reverted back to 30hz.

Graphics Card: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW 8GB

Processor: i7 6800k

Motherboard: MSI X99A Gaming Pro Carbon

Memory: 32GB DDR3

Monitor: 4k UHD Samsung TV

EDIT: Drivers are updated. Still no change.

EDIT2: Tried setting 4k @ 50hz, still has the bug.

EDIT3: Tried even 4096x2160 @ 60hz. That also reverted back to 4096x2160 @ 30hz. Seems to be a problem with any high resolution.

EDIT4: Going to just uninstall Battlefield 1 and then reinstall it, see if that fixes it.

EDIT5: Uninstalling and reinstalling did nothing.

EDIT6: This problem now only seems to occur on FULLSCREEN, however Windowed and Borderless work fine.

  • @Patriot208 Can you please try to reset your settings by deleting PROFSAVE_profile file in Documents>>Battlefield 1>>Settings?

@Patriot208 Okay. As I understand, you also tried to edit your config file, tight? If you didn't try, then open that file via WordPad and find these lines:

    GstRender.ResolutionHeight 1080
    GstRender.ResolutionHertz 60.000000
    GstRender.ResolutionScale 1.000000
    GstRender.ResolutionWidth 1920

Here you can edit your resolution and hertz.

    GstRender.ResolutionHeight 2160
    GstRender.ResolutionHertz 60.000000
    GstRender.ResolutionScale 1.000000
    GstRender.ResolutionWidth 3840

That is what it was set as when I first went into the file, yet the Refresh rate will not be at 60hz.

    I switched it to:

    GstRender.ResolutionHeight 1080
    GstRender.ResolutionHertz 60.000000
    GstRender.ResolutionScale 1.000000
    GstRender.ResolutionWidth 1920

And it worked as I expected that resolution would, but when I tried to get the 3840x2160 resolution it just reverts back to the 30hz refresh rate. Even when it is GstRender.ResolutionHertz 60.000000.

Any fixes to my resolution problem... anyone? Or should I just wait and hope it's somehow patched? Would really rather playing 3840x2160 in Fullscreen @ 60hz than playing it in borderless.
  • My PC consist of 2 1080 sli, 7700k, & 32 GB Ram.  I have a PG348 34 inch Asus 21x9 monitor and just bought a LG 27U69PW.  I can't get 4K on LG monitor in Battlefield 1 works fine on Star Wars Battlefront and a few other games that I have tried.  I have tried reinstalling the Nvidia drivers.  Same problem.   When I launch game the resolution is 1920x700 or  something like that.  I try to set it to 4k and it continues to flicker.  My Asus monitor works fine at 3840x1440.  I have also tried just connecting the monitor by itself.  Any ideas what I can try?
