Server Browser Issue - Default filter doesn't show custom servers like it used t

Before last week, I was able to apply custom settings to my battlefield 1 Server and my server would still show up under the default server browser (amongst others).

In the last week or so however, the server browser for Battlefield 1 has not been functioning correctly. Previously, I was able to configure my server with custom settings such as the 6 player start (aka: "Disable Pre Round") and it still used to show this custom setting in the default server browser. However, recently something has changed which makes my server unsearchable if I apply any custom settings at all.

I'd like to report this as a problem which needs to be addressed, as server owners who have paid good money for their servers (such as myself) should have the ability to have their servers searchable in the default server browser settings with custom settings such as a 6 player start.

This issue is affecting the player base, as nobody wants to stick around waiting until 20 people are ready in the server (this took 3 hours to get 20 people ready yesterday).

I've already contacted EA support about this, and they gave me this link to post my concern. I'm posting this in the hope that someone from EA will see this and help get the server browser fixed to allow for servers with custom settings to show up in the default browser filter like they used to before last week.

Cheers

  • The server browser and admin tools for bF1 leave much to be desired and the past couple of updates to them seem to have caused more trouble than anything. Unfortunately there is nothing that we can do to assist you since there is no user level fix the issue that you describe. Any tweak to the server browser or admin tools to show custom servers in the normal server browser settings will need to be done by DICE, however I think segregating custom servers was an intentional move by DICE.

    Hey  @lI_Drummer_lI,

sorry to hear that - to sum it up:

You can't find your server in the server browser after applying any changes. You could make changes that also take effect, but the moment you do, the server becomes unsearchable?

I'd encourage you to reach out to an EA Advisor again who can restart your server or, if necesarry, replace it. Maybe this resolves that issue on short notice.

Hello and thank you very much for your suggestions, however I have tried all of these and spent countless hours trying to communicate the issue with EA advisers.

From what I've gathered, the issue is not something that I can fix myself, but rather an issue with the server browser.

All server owners in Oceania have now set their servers to default settings, as the default filter wont show changes such as 6P start which is technically a "custom" setting, even though it showed it in the default search settings before. This issue inst just affecting me and my server but everyone in Oceania (at least).

Something has clearly changed or gone wrong on EA's back end in the last week which has caused this issue and I've spent days trying to talk to the right people to get the issue recognised and fixed with very little success.

Thanks for getting back to me though, appreciate it.
