SERVER DISCONNECTED

After playing BF1 online for the past week with no troubles, 3 days ago it just stopped working.

Every time I go to join a match or server, the game starts to load the map before cancelling with a pop-up box that says;

"Connection to EA Online timed out. Your network bandwidth and/or network latency may not meet the requirements for the game."

This happens every time I try to connect to any game now. BF1 is now unplayable for me after just buying it.
I have used the following guides to try and fix the issue;

https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/opening-tcp-or-udp-ports-for-connection-issues/

https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/connection-troubleshooting-advanced-pc/

Unfortunately none of these guides work. Although after searching the forums the past couple days I have noticed that plenty of other users have had or are having these problems on BF1 and BF4. Some of the posts have been changed with [Solved] on the title but none of them are solved.

I've forwarded ports, flushed the dns cache, tried disabling firewall/antivirus. Restarted origin, the computer, the router. Updated drivers, re-installed the game.

Above minimum specs for the game. Download speed at max is 9.4 mb/s. What's the deal?

The suggested fix for it seems to be "It might work if you just keep trying it."

I've sat and tried to join matches for waaaay too long at this point. Ha.

Its not a hardware or internet connection speed issue. I play a lot of other online games and I have no problems with them.

Again, I have been playing for almost the past week with no problems, 60 fps while playing and low latency the whole time. Nothing has changed on my end but now I am being told there is a problem with my connection when there is not.

How do I make this game work? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

  • @WhiskeyBandit22 If not done already please make sure this is done for settings and be sure all this is up to date on your PC...

    Disable Origin in game:
    In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

    Origin Cloud Storage turn it off
    Origin, settings, General

    Latest version of DirectX see this page
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35

    Reinstall Microsoft C++ For my game PC's I install both x64 and x86 as it does not hurt the PC

    NOTE>>> you need to select the x64 or the x86 file depending on what architecture your computer has. To find this out, Click Start, right click on "Computer" and select "Properties". Under system type is should say "32-Bit Operating System" or "64-bit Operating System". If 32-bit operating system, download the x86 file, and if 64-bit download the x64 file.

    Reboot PC test game if this fails to fix it try steps below

    1- turn off PC

    2- Unplug power from modem and router if you have both

    3- Leave it unplugged 10 min no less

    4- If you have both modem and router then ... After 10 min plug modem back in let it fully boot up. Then plug in router and let it fully boot up.

    5- Then turn on PC and see if you can connect to a server.
