Smoke grenade kill

I have a question that's haunting me. If you go on the battlefield tracker and you search the smoke grenades or the rifle grenades you can see that a few people manage to get kills with smoke grenades. I've done some testing and a lot of research and I can't find a answer to HOW can I get kills with a smoke grenade. On the battlefield wiki theres a video of a guy getting the smoke grenade kill. Thanks for the help.

    @Jofez16When you get kill in bf1 its never from the thing you are holding its always what deals damage to kill the ennemy. I’ve tryed pretty much everything I could with friends and I never got a result. Also, its me who posted that on reddit I wanted to know if someone knew how it worked.

    When was the video from? It's possible they removed the damage output on it during the CTE and it's no longer possible to get kills with.
