Sound quality difference between 32bit and 64bit client

First my specs;

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400

8GB RAM

Nvidia GTX 580

Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional (latest Creative drivers as well as latest PAX custom drivers tested)

Due to the frequent crashing of the 64bit client I reverted to starting the 32bit client of the game and to my surprise the sound quality is much different! I have double checked all sound settings in-game and they are the same in both clients.

The fact, though, is that the sound quality in the 32bit version of the game resembles the 'full cinematic' sound experience similar to what I got with BF3, whereas the 64bit client has a much softer sound experience. Like the sounds are muffled, distant and lower in volume.

Any ideas what might be causing this as I would prefer being able to play the game in 64bit mode...

Thanks!

    I may have found the solution;

    The 64bit client starts at only 10% volume in the Windows 8 mixer, whereas the 32bit client starts at the volume set by the Master Volume (as is normal).

    So for the 64bit client I need to ALT-TAB, crank the volume up to Master Volume in the Windows volume mixer and then ALT-TAB back into the game.

    I have been doing some further testing. Instead now I used my surround speaker setup (5.1) instead of headphones.

    The 64bit client does not seem to have proper positional audio and does not seem to utilize the subwoofer (at all or at least not very well). The clients both have the same options selected when you launch them, so I am not sure why I would be hearing this sound difference.

    Are there seperate config files for each client or do they share them?

    Is there a reason why perhaps my X-Fi Titanium soundcard would be the culprit in this, instead of the game?

    To clarify; on 5.1 setup (in the driver suite and volume panel of the soundcard) instead of 2.1 setup, the 32bit client has much better and more pronounced sound effects like described in the first post as well. Also, the 32bit client has much better positional sounds as a result too.
