Forum Discussion
Hello everyone,
First of all, sorry for any language mistakes I could make here, french is my native language and this is a translation of my original post. Which I obviously posted in French forums. :D (Link for french speakers) I hope this will help you resolving this issue.
I had the exact same problem and one of the only solution found was, for me, to set Firefox as my default browser and then launch the game via Origin to open the Battlelog on Firefox to finally join a server. (You also have to launch Origin as administrator) But, I don't like Firefox at all, and I trully don't want to skip Chrome for it.
I also read that this problem could be fixed by creating a new user on Windows with full administrator rights (which I already have, but people said it worked) Anyway, I didn't try it since it doesn't fix the problem "for real" because you will have to switch everytime between your current user session and the new one to launch BFH.
I never had this kind of issue with others Battlefield so I was kinda lost at first.
(At this part I only use Google Chrome, not Firefox anymore)
Avast told me that "ESNLaunchAx Control" were receiving bad comments from his community and asked me if I wanted to delete it, I said yes since if this is needed the Battlelog will download it again anyway. It fixed it for a hour or two but the issue came back, so I guess this is not the right direction to look to resolve this. (Or maybe it is, but it is out of my ability)
Then I found out that the game launch only when Origin is already opened, and launching Origin at the same time as the game via the Battlelog didn't work. I started sneaking folders and administrator rights on .exe and I realized that I set Origin.exe to compatibility Windows 7 long time ago to play FIFA 13 and 14. (Due to another issue where I couldn't launch these games since I'm on Win8.1)
And here is the part were everything went better for me:
I made a lot of test, first of all this is the results I've got when Origin.exe where on compatibility Windows 7 (using Google Chrome) :
Tests done when Origin is already open:
- Origin doesn't have admins rights, BFH does -> Game launch √
- Origin has admins rights, BFH doesn't -> Game doesn't launch ×
- Both have admins rights -> Game doesn't launch ×
- Both have nothing -> Game doesn't launch ×
Tests done when Origin is closed and Battlelog opens it before launching the game to join a server:
- Origin doesn't have admins rights, BFH does -> Game doesn't launch ×
- Origin has admins rights, BFH doesn't -> Game doesn't launch ×
- Both have admins rights -> Game doesn't launch ×
- Both have nothing -> Game doesn't launch ×
Here is the interresting part where the issue is FIXED, I removed the compatibility settings of Origin.exe and made the tests again (using Google Chrome) :
Tests done when Origin is already open:
- Origin doesn't have admins rights, BFH does -> Game launch √
- Origin has admins rights, BFH doesn't -> Game launch √
- Both have admins rights -> Game launch √
- Both have nothing -> Game launch √
Tests done when Origin is closed and Battlelog opens it before launching the game to join a server:
- Origin doesn't have admins rights, BFH does -> Game launch √
- Origin has admins rights, BFH doesn't -> Game launch √
- Both have admins rights -> Game launch √
- Both have nothing -> Game launch √
I hope this fix this issue for you aswell. It did for me :D
As you can see I had a lot of free time today to write and test all of this!
