The HOLD button? What is it????

I'm in Escape trying to pick up the shotgun. It says, "HOLD to pick up Hawk" Hold what? I tried pressing every key, but can't pick up the shotgun. I have Enter keyed for opening doors and stuff. That doesn't work.

What is HOLD???? This is PC
