Total PC freeze after 3-5 minutes when playing BF3 & BF4 with a buzz noise.

Both the games just freezes and a buzz noise comes from the speakers and the monitor displays a no signal sign. I cant enter the task manager or anything. Im forced to power off the PC by the power button.  This happened to me while playing online as well as offline om BF3 and online on BF4. Didnt play the campiagn on Bf4. Ive tried almost everything on google but found no luck so far. im so desperate right now and any help would be appreciated.

  • Yo @FrostyTDN,

Cheers for the explanation and the specs.

Do you play with your Power Settings on high performance, on Win10 to check this go to the bottom left corner of your screen and right click, then select High Performance. Tell us of this has any effect. If this doesn't improve anything could you tell us whether or not you experience Lag before the crash.

Hey mate, Thanks for helping me out.  Ive tried the playing it in high power settings but it didn't find much success. And no ive not experienced any lag , the game runs smoothly without any issue before my PC suddenly crash. And one ive noticed is that the pc crash at around 3 minutes and 20 secs mark. Is there anything else that I can try?

    cheers.

  • @FrostyTDN, cheers and no problem. Have you tried playing on other maps and game modes and do you do anything specific around the 3 minute mark? I can't really think of much else to try, as you have done it all, you could try to do a clean boot (as it maybe you have some programs causing problems)

    To Clean Boot Your PC,

    1) Press Win+R
    2) Type 'msconfig.' in the prompt and hit enter
    3) When Msconfig opens select 'General'
    4) Choose Selective Startup option.
    5) Uncheck 'Load startup items box'
    6) Open the 'Services tab' then select 'Hide all Microsoft services' Option at the bottom of the tab
    7) Press 'Disable All' Button
    8) When prompted restart.

If no luck there, open BF4 and task manager and monitor the 'Processes' Tab for sudden spike, do this by sorting via CPU.

    Thanks

  • Hey... @FrostyTDN

-Check the minimum system requirements of the game against your computer (Windows/Mac) and update any drivers that are out-of-date.
-Unplug all USB devices (aside from the mouse and keyboard) and try the game again.
-Disable the Origin in-game overlay (IGO).
-To do this, launch the Origin client, then go to the Origin menu, Application Settings, Origin In Game, and then uncheck "Enable Origin In Game."
    -Update the game.
    -Repair the game install.
    -Update your system (Windows/Mac)
