Unable to update Battlefield Bad Company 2 from version 602574 to795745

     I have been playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 since 2010 and I still like to play that game sometimes (I have Battlefield 3 Premium too).  However, lately I am not seeing any servers available in Battlefield Bad Company 2 or Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam--i might occassionally see a few out of country servers available (none for the Vietnam game).  

     I have experienced this problem before back in 2011 when I realized my Battlefield BC 2 was out of date, so I did some research and my current version of Battlefield BC2 is version  602574.   I saw on various websites the latest version of Battlefield BC2 is version 795745, so I downloaded the patch BFBC2_PC_Client_R11_795745_Patch.exe.

      I open the patch and it runs the Battlefield BC 2 updater progam where i see at the bottom "Retrieving version information" and then it just launches my Battlefield BC2 game and it still stays on version 602574.  

      I am running Windows 8 Professional and the Origin client is installed (because of Battlefield 3); I can run Battlefield BC2 via the Origin client or the old method of launching the game via C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield Bad Company 2   .   Can someone please advise why I can't update this game to the latest version?

    I was going to reply that I already tried that......just now I was viewing the files in the game directory and opened up the file "InstallationData.xml"  and I noticed "CurrentVersion 795745 CurrentVersion", so i removed 795745 and changed it to 602574 and saved the file.  I then proceeded to run the patch (BFBC2_PC_Client_R11_795745_Patch.exe) and it finally updated my game!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I can now see all the servers with people playing in them!  After playing Battlefield 3 exclusively since September 2012, I now feel like playing some Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam!

    you can download it manually by searching in google or bing etc (battlefield bad company patch)
    the last update is (r 11) which is 2 and a half gb

    I had this same issue today. It's been months since I played BC2.

    I edited the "InstallationData.xml" file to 602574 in notepad and ran the Updater .exe in the BC2 folder. That fixed my problem!

    Had the same Problem.........But now i solved it just because of u people's help........EA please improve...........Guys U all rock...........U solved my problems......

       I have uninstall and reinstall Battlefield Bad Company 2 three time from my disk . Also uninstall Origin and reinstall Origin .

    Every time I start the game it said you have version 515195 you need to update to 795745 I tell it to update it starts and when

    It gets to  file ( Loader-00.fbrb) It is there for 30 minutes and said file not found . I've turn off fire wall virus and everything between

    walk and don't walk . Makes no difference . I went into the BF2 program files there is no ( update Exe ) file in the folder . I went into the ( InstallationData ) folder and try to put in the 602574 version . It would  not let me change any thing at all . If I had any hair I would pull

    it out . Been on line ( Chat Support ) two times and both time well go to Origin and try to down load again and again and again . I'm

    the dog that caught my tail . Now what do i do . Please can someone  advise why I can't update .
