voice chat in bf4

I have the VOIP setting to "ON" and I still cannot talk or hear anyone via in-game chat the past week and a half (no speaker icon by my name either).  I could chat in-game previously though and I don't understand what got changed.  Any other suggestions?  Is there a bug in the game that is disabling squad voice chat?  I'm on Xbox 360.

Xbox 360. Having the same problem. No speaker next to my name. Can't hear anyone and no one can hear me. Does squad chat require premium? Voip is on. I even tried EA tech support. They said to delet/reinstall which I did. Nat set to moderate if that matters. Xbox live chat works fine as does in game GTA online. No game chat option available under chat on xbox for BF4. Please help.

If you had the same problem I had with NO IN-GAME SQUAD CHAT, but you can still chat in PRIVATE PARTY and you have made ANY CHANGES IN xBox System PRIVACY SETTINGS, Reset your privacy setting to ADULT mode. Anything else will render your SQUAD CHAT INOPPERABLE!!

Thanks for your reply. I looked under system settings and saw no option for privacy settings. Family settings are off tho if that helps. 

Do I have to put the current squad into my coms? This is my first xbox and I don't know anything about it. Do I have to have premium? Please help.

This actually seems to have done the trick for me. I actually notice the small Audio/Speaker symbol appears next to my Gamertag. The only issue left is that every time I join a squad that has the Audio/Speaker symbol next to their Gamertags and the second I speak barely my 1st word. Their Audio/Speaker symbols suddenly disappears. 😞

Now how to pass this information out to all Battlefield 4 players that plays on the X-Box 1. 😪
