When I click - the game minimizes

Most of the time – BF4 doesn't capture my mouse pointer. When I click somewhere during loading a server, the game minimizes.
I can maximize it back, but it's not resolved - click anywhere again, left or right click, and it minimizes again. When it's finished loading me into the map, I can't click on anything in the deploy screen since it just minimize again.

Quitting the server and rejoining makes no difference.  When it finally does start working it's completely random... loading a map and all of a sudden mouse pointer is captured and I'm off until I load a new server.

I have uninstalled my AV as a test – no difference

I have uninstall my mouse and tried a different on – no difference

The computer was just rebuilt 6 days ago – before and after the rebuild it was doing the same thing

Running the latest video driver/chipset/BOIS all that – no difference

Thanks for your help

  • Hello,

I kinda fixed the problem, it worked for me.

I just button mashed the **bleep**out of my L1 key  and it stayed full screen. Sometimes it just cant go to fullscreen becaus you have other programs open. I had bittorrent open and that was the problem. Maybe you have a programm open that interfears with BF4.

I will see you on the battlefield!

Clean pc build just 7 days ago.  I only use the computer for gaming - nothing installed to run in the background.  Other than AV (which I tried uninstalling to no effect), Origin w/BF4, and NVIDIA Experience.

Surly I'm not this only one with this issue?

  • I've been struggling the same since the beginning. Sometimes it takes 5 or more try and a lot of wasted time (up to 20 minutes) to play. I'm getting very tired of this. This thread is almost a year ago. They really can't fix this? I read BF3 has similar issues. I guess this issue started with that **bleep** called Battlelog, at least I don't have any mouse issue with Bad Company 2.

I don't have any other programs open (except Firefox), using Logitech MX518 with its software. I have a i5-2500K / GTX 760 based rig, running nVidia Experience and ShadowPlay in the background. Of course, I've tried everything, disabling this or that or everything, no effect. No surprise, because BF4 is the only game with this issue.

Looking forward to an answer, especially from EA / DICE. Or a refund.

Most of the times this is an overlay issue. Disabling Origin In Game, Nvidia Experience and all other programs that might overlay usually solves it.

  • If Carbonic's Solution does not work,

  • I have the same exact problem - I cam move and do anything I want in the game except press either mouse button, if I do the game automatically minimizes!

Seeing the original post for this was over two years ago and not fix this would seem to be the NO-answers.ea.com... :P
