Of course it wont, the 4gb one doesnt have enough space for the download.
Option 1:
Get an official 360 hard drive.
Option 2: (best imo)
Get a 360 hard drive enclosure and put a Solid State hard drive in there.
If the enclosures are hard for you to find, just get a Solid State and get it in there, and wedget it inplace with cardboard. Ok may not sound great but works the same as long as you know what you're doing.

Desktop HDDs are normally 3.5" unless theyre the SSD's @ 2.5".
You need a 2.5" Sized SATA hard drive ie a laptop sized one.
Normal SATA Hard Drives is what Microsoft use, if you want better performance however get an SSD however theyre more expensive and probably going by your understanding at the moment way over your head.Simply put I would suggest you get one of the following and follow this guide.
- WD Scorpio Series BEVS/BEAS
- WD Scorpio Blue Series BEVS/BEVT/BPVT
- WD Scorpio Black Series BEKT/BJKT
- WD VelociRaptor Series
- WD AV-25 Series BUDT
