Why I won't buy battlefield 4

Because its just too stacked and hacked.   Just as bad as Crysis 2 multiplayer was.   Its a sign of the times.

I was going to buy the game regardless of my poor fps and so many fake players...because it s a great game.  But iv'e decided against it.   And no this is not a sore loser thread.  I'd say I'm an avg 1.5 ratio player sometimes greater.  I get an mvp now and then on a full 64 man conquest server in bf3. I have gotten 80-20 scores a few times on full servers. I'm definitely not consistend...  but the game itself is great  and I was gradually getting to that mark in bf4 after leveling some and learnign new maps.

Dont' get me wrong.  cs 1.6 still might have the most hacks in history,  but at least it also had honest sportlike communities.   This doesn't exist nowadays...and only the trolls are left.   I've been gaming for 20 years and I've been slowly watching the gaming communities in the type of games I love die,  as more and more people abandon the internet as these absurd trolls take over,   and I feel I'd be supporting these trolls, whether they use 3rd party hacks or cheat in other ways or just simply discourage fair play,   and I just can't do it anymore.      25-50 dollar a month hack subscriptions on a dozen diff sites,   and theres like half a dozen obvious bots in each 64 man match.  And thats not even as bad as the team stacking or malicious lag is....I can't lie to myself like some do anymore.   I think some of these guys even work for EA.

WHen I read these threads about mysterious crashes and lag or loss of connections,  I instantly think malicious activity because 9 times out of 10.  Thats exactly what it is.  Its sad.  Its a horrible time for the internet right now.  And i blame the fact that anonymity has become cool.

I will never buy an online multiplayer again,  not even for consoles.

I feel that I would be breeding, and  supporting these fake  communities with my money,  more then EA. I feel so bad for EA and the gaming industry in general, that mostly all thats left is garbage.   But at least there is enough of them to keep bf4 running I guess.  But until these companies take stronger steps to encourage competitive matches,  similar to what RIOT does with LoL....I can't support gaming any further.

I'm going to play out bf3 till it dies,  which is another great game.

  • I hate to play Devil's Advocate but how do you know that BF4 is filled with cheaters if you have never played it? I have over 400 hours in BF4 on 4 different platforms and have only once ran across s suspicious player, mind you suspicious not one whom I could outright say was hacking or cheating. Also BF4 uses two anti-cheat systems, Punkbuster like so many other games and Fairfight which has the cheater community quite worried since they have no idea how to counter it. Also you cannot compare BF3's player base after it was given away a couple of times for free with BF4's player base who paid for the game. BF3 also doesn't use Fairfight which has cheaters scared.

The only malicious activity that has been happening recently is DDOS attacks that have affected PSN, Xbox Live, Blizzard, Ubisoft, Valve, EA among others by the Lizard Squad. This has nothing to do with cheaters in BF4.

Now time for the official talk, the Answer HQ is a technical self help forum to help gamers solve technical problems in order to play the games that they paid for. Threads such as yours actually belong in the Battlelog forums here: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf4/forum/ As such do you have an actual technical problem that we can assist you with? If so post it in the appropriate game forum and we will do our best to assist you. Since this thread is outside the scope of the AHQ I am going to close it.

  • you make a valid points but why would you rather avoid the games you may enjoy over reporting the user? on consoles its harder to cheat though its possible as well. those who say it isnt are either naive or just never experienced it.
